Parent-Teacher Conferences
No school. Parents must meet face-to-face with teachers to get student report cards.
A Message from ORES Principal Denise Francisco
This week marks the end of the 1st Quarter. The grading period will end of Thursday, Nov. 1st. The following day – Friday, Nov. 2nd is a Teacher workday. On Nov. 2nd, our teachers will meet face to face with parents for conferences and at these conferences they will provide you a hard copy of the 1st Quarter Report Card. If you are not able to meet with your child’s teacher on Nov. 2nd, they will schedule a conference with you before Nov. 14th and give you the report card at that meeting.

We have several school reminders for the coming week. Monday is Picture Re-take/makeup Day. Our Student Council has an amazing Spirit Week planned for next week. They are planning a student campaign to raise funds for the United Way. They are asking students to bring $2.00 or .50 per day next week to participate in dress up opportunities each day. All of the money raised will be donated to the United Way. On Monday students will be able to “Dress to Impress”, Tuesday will be “Wacky Tacky and Hat Day”, Wednesday will be “Costume Day” but no face paint, masks, or toy weapons allowed as part of any costume, and Thursday will be “Pajama Day”. If a student wants to participate in all four days they can bring $2.00 for the whole week but if they only want to participate in certain days they can just bring .50 for that particular day. The classroom teacher will collect the money.

Do you have electronics or appliances that need to be thrown away? You are in luck because on Saturday, Nov. 3rd the Oak Ridge Bus Lane will turn into an Ecycle Event sponsored by Guilford County. Please see more in the flyer below.

Have a great week,
Mrs. Francisco
