Carver Soccer Team Heads to Playoffs
The playoffs begin on Monday, Oct. 29. The matchups are:  The Met at Carver at 4:15 p.m. with the game being played at Carver and  SES at American Legion with the game being played at Garcia Bend Park.  The championship game will be held on Thursday, Nov. 1.

Halloween Guidelines
Many of our students and families are excited about Halloween next Wednesday. Sacramento City Unified School District understands some of our schools, students and families plan on wearing costumes and engaging in other fun activities in the spirit of Halloween. As your family makes decisions about whether to engage in Halloween activities, we would like to make you aware of some key guidelines on costumes worn at school sites, as well as suggested recommendations on food choices.

When it comes to the story of chili, tales and myths abound!  Chili enthusiasts say one possible starting point comes from Sister Mary of Agreda, a Spanish nun in the early 1600s who never left her convent yet had out-of-body experiences in which her spirit was transported across the Atlantic to preach Christianity to the Indians. After one of the return trips, her spirit wrote down the first recipe for chili con carne: chili peppers, venison, onions, and tomatoes.
