MFGA Kicks Off 2021 Corporate Campaign
Annual Corporate Campaign Launch Returns Immediate Support

Winnipeg, MB (March 1, 2021) --- Manitoba Forage and Grassland Association (MFGA)’s annual corporate campaign for 2021-22 kicked off with individually-tailored outreach to last year’s valued corporate supporters at around noon on February 26, 2021.

By 1:00 pm that same day, the freshly-minted campaign had already successfully retained the annual support of General Mills – an international global icon – and Credit Union Central of Manitoba as part of an ongoing funding agreement at the organization’s highest Platinum sponsorship level.

“This is such great news,” said Larry Wegner, MFGA’s Chair who farms near Virden, MB. “To receive the support of these two important organizations right out of the gate is a very solid reinforcement that our MFGA focus on farm-gate soil-health leadership and regenerative agriculture practices that build soil health are indeed well-timed for momentum as the world looks at healthy soils as the “new hero” to some pressing global challenges.”

As a producer-led, non-checkoff organization, MFGA relies on four diverse revenue streams for financial sustainability: memberships, project roles/management/administration, corporate support and revenue from the MFGA’s Annual Regenerative Agriculture Conference – which will be held for the fourth straight year in 2021. General Mills and the Credit Union Central of Manitoba both selected a MFGA sponsorship package that “bundled” their support of MFGA and also the annual conference to guarantee their profile and valuable support was toward both revenue streams.

“MFGA needs support to do what MFGA does best, which is network, inform and engage with producers on key areas such as soil-health-based regenerative ag practices and then bring that knowledge and focus into collaborations and opportunities that are aimed directly at benefiting producers and our farm lands,” says Ryan Boyd, of South Glanton Farms near Forrest, MB and MFGA Finance Chair and returning chair of the 2021 MFGA Regen Ag Conference committee. “Increasingly, healthy Manitoba agricultural lands with healthy soils are vital components of building public trust around consumer food choices, providing ecosystem services such as clean, abundant water resources, carbon capture and biodiversity, and creating economically resilient agricultural communities by buffering extreme weather events like floods and droughts. MFGA is a producer group stating quite clearly that we are championing all this good stuff on our lands and we need your support to keep rolling the way we are, informing, learning from and networking with others to regenerate landscapes.”

For all corporate supporters, MFGA takes great pride and extra steps to help shine a light on those who sponsor us at their own declared, comfort levels via:
- MFGA’s monthly eBulletin to a growing database of nearly 2,000 subscribers, which includes producers, governments, ag and conservation groups and industry from around the world;
- an engaging and informative website, which receives nearly 12,000 visits yearly;
- our active and engaged MFGA social media channels as we support and cross promote your company’s good news;
- key leadership, design and advisory roles on producer-focused research and conservation projects;
- the opportunity for profile and recognition at MFGA-led events, such as our super successful annual MFGA Regenerative Ag Conference, where our third-ever event in 2020 drew more than 1,000 viewers to a month-long virtual event, making it a can’t miss event for many producers on the annual calendar. All conference sponsors were mentioned every single night and are still on our MFGA website in prominent fashion. Please watch for details in the weeks ahead as we roll out plans, details and our platform for this year’s conference (Nov 15-17, 2021).

The MFGA corporate campaign will run until the end of March 2021. Organizations and corporations interested in more information on how to become a MFGA Corporate Sponsor are asked to please contact Denice at denice@mfga.net.
