Thank you to all our volunteers, artists, exhibitors, and patrons for making Menlo Summer Fest a blast of hot fun in the summertime. We hope you enjoyed the event and summer weather!

Candidate Filing Period is Open
The candidate filing period for the November 6th general election in San Mateo County opened on July 16 and closes on Friday, August 10 at 5 pm . Nomination papers and declarations of candidacy are available during this time.

Parks & Recreation Study Session
The Parks and Recreation Commission plans to hold their regularly scheduled meeting on Wednesday, July 25 , at 5:30 pm at the Menlo Park Senior Center located at 110 Terminal Ave. At the meeting there will be a study session on the City’s Playground Improvement Project, which has the playground at Nealon Park slated to be the first to be renovated. After the study session, the Commission will adjourn to tour the recreation facilities on the Belle Haven Campus as well as Kelly Field, Hamilton Park and the recently renamed Karl E. Clark Park. The purpose of the tour is help inform the Commission in light of the Parks and Recreation Facilities Master Plan that is currently underway. 

Register for the Downtown Block Party!
The Block Party represents a unique opportunity for businesses to showcase Menlo Park to residents and visitors who may not otherwise be downtown. The 12th Annual Downtown Block Party is on August 16, 2018 from 5:30 to 8 pm on Santa Cruz Avenue .

SUMMER EVENTS
Summer Concert Series: Rachel Steele (Country/Rock)
The Summer Concert Series presented by Facebook features a variety of musical styles from Jazz to Country to hits of today and yesterday. Bring your picnic blanket and dinner, and of course there is always room for dancers of all ages.

This Wednesday's concert features Rachel Steele. Rachel Steele and Road 88 have the perfect blend of country with a little rock and a touch of R & B to make your event perfect and leave your guests wanting more. The band has fine tuned its focus on events and this is where the blend of music works so well. Although known as a country band, adding in the other genres of music crosses musical lines guaranteeing everyone has a good time.

Summer Concert Series: Livewire
Join us for an exciting Summer Concert Series at Holbrook-Palmer Park! Bring your chairs and blankets as the event will be in a grassy area. You are welcome to bring refreshments and snacks but there will be a featured food truck for the night where you can purchase amazing food!

Menlo Movie Series - Despicable Me 3
The 2018 Menlo Movie Series features free outdoor movies at Burgess Park. Grab a chair, blanket and some snacks to enjoy a free community movie night with your friends and family. Come and enjoy a night of watching the stars, under the stars.
