This Week in Largo
LABOR DAY SOLID WASTE SCHEDULE 
Due to the upcoming Labor Day holiday, City of Largo residential garbage and recycling will not be collected on Monday, September 3. Please see the collection changes below:
 
· Monday, Sept. 3 collection will be on Tuesday, Sept. 4
· Tuesday, Sept. 4 collection will be on Wednesday, Sept. 5
 
There will be no change to commercial collections on these days. City facilities will be closed on Monday, Sept. 3. For questions, please call the City of Largo Solid Waste Division at (727)587-6760 or visit   LargoRecycles.com.

SUSTAINABILITY COMMUNITY OUTREACH
As the organization focuses on Sustainability , Communications and Marketing will continue  to provide outreach and education to the community on environmental best practices. This includes  promoting renewable energy usage in the community by featuring energy success stories that showcase residents and business owners in the Our Future Largo enewsletter and other social media channels. In partnership with  outside organizations such as Suncoast Rise Above Plastics and the Surfrider Foundation, staff will make available educational information that promotes waste reduction including the reduction of single-use plastics. Staff will also continuealong with community partners including Suncoast Rise Above Plastics, t o research local businesses and other Florida communities to better understand the specific impact of single-use plastics in Largo. Information obtained will be used to facilitate a conversation at a future City Commission Work Session.

PROJECT UPDATES
TROTTER ROAD CONSTRUCTION PROJECT UPDATE
Beginning August 20th and continuing through September 7th, residents can expect intermittent reclaimed water service outages along Trotter Road between 11th Avenue SW and 12th Avenue SW. After September 7th, residents can expect to see road pavement restoration between 8th Avenue SW and Dryer Road.

MANHOLE REPLACEMENT PROJECT
Effective Monday, 8/20/2018 - Friday, 8/31/2018

All traffic from Rosery/McMullen Road to Coronet Drive on Keene Road will be reduced to one lane north bound and one lane south bound. This is to replace a sanitary manhole located at Keene Road and Fairlane Drive. All side streets along the east side of Keene Road will be right turn only.  Fairlane Drive will be local traffic only from the neighborhood side. There will be no Access from Keene Road onto Fairlane Drive.
