Back to School Bash: This Friday After School!
Let's celebrate our first week of school! Join the entire Summit community immediately after school in our big backyard. SPO is providing hot dogs (fresh off the grill) and beverages at no charge. There will also be an ice cream truck here from 4-5 p.m. with a variety of treats available for purchase (between $1-5).
Please use the adjacent church parking lot for overflow parking (the lot to the east of The Summit).
Car line & pick-up before the Bash: We will follow normal dismissal procedures on Friday. Teachers will bring their classes to their assigned car line spots. Parents may either use the car line to pick up and then park, or they may park and then walk to pick up their student from their teacher.

Summit Spirit Wear: Orders Due Friday, August 31
It's time to order NEW Summit
Spirit
Wear! This is a great way to show off your Summit
spirit for students, parents, and grandparents. Spirit Wear may be worn every Friday with jeans (or khaki or navy pants/shorts/skirts) for Beginners-8th Grade, and Spirit Wear may be worn every day for High School Summit students.
Orders are due
Friday, August 31 by 5:00 p.m.
Orders and payments should be put in the SPO Deposit Box to the right of the front desk.

SPO: 2018-2019 Volunteer Sign Up
The Summit Parent Organization (SPO) supports The Summit and our community through a variety of events and fundraisers. All of SPO's success is contributed to the efforts of our parent volunteers, and we couldn't do it without you!
It is asked that families volunteer a minimum of four times per year (
see the Summit Handbook, p 24). Please take a look at the following volunteer options, and choose the ones that best suit your interests and skill set.
We appreciate all the time and energy you put into making our school the amazing place we all love! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact your SPO Class Representative or the

Register for The Run for the Summit
The Summit Parent Organization will be hosting our 12th annual Run for The Summit on
Saturday, September 22, 2018. The Run begins at 9:00 a.m. This year we are hosting a Far Out 5K & 1 Mile Fun Run at the Missouri Institute of Natural Science. Participants are encouraged to dress in their grooviest running gear for our 1960s inspired event!

Summit Family Business Directory: Available to View Family Businesses
The Summit Parent Organization (SPO) would like to build relationships within The Summit community by offering families with businesses the opportunity to list their business in The Summit Business Directory. This will allow us to support one another through referrals and patronage.
Participation is completely optional and free of charge. Additionally, teachers are excited at the prospect of the Business Directory to have as a reference for potential guest speakers in their classrooms &/or field trip opportunities. If you are interested in being listed in the Business Directory, please use this link to submit your information.

Box Tops, Labels for Education, & Tyson Project A+
Don't forget to keep collecting all your box tops, labels, and Tyson product codes! We have a clear bucket in the lobby to collect these labels all year long. Please be sure to ask your family and friends to collect theirs as well. The Summit gets credit for every label turned in!

Mabel's Labels are great, adhesive labels for everything: uniform shirts, water bottles, lunch boxes, pencil cases, laptops, etc. They stick and won't come off in the wash!
