Study Shows Microneedling Significantly Improves Lines,Texture & Skin Laxity
A study just published in the Journal of Clinical & Aesthetic Dermatology looked at the results of 4 automated
microneedling treatments done a month apart, on 48 patients, with a device similar to our SkinPen.
Significant improvement in fine lines, laxity, wrinkles & texture were seen with
maximal results noted 150 days after the 4th treatment and there were no incidences of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
I used to believe that the more traumatic the treatment, the better the results, but I was wrong.

Survey Results Highlight Sex Differences in Skin Care Habits
A recent surv
ey focusing on skin care routines & habits,
revealed some interestin
g findings, including:
- 25% of men do not cleanse or moisturize at all
- 41% of women clean and moisturize at least once a day
- 80% of women care about the appearance of their neck but only 38% are using a neck product*
- 28% of people ages 18-34 said they spend more time on their daily skin routine than they do reading the news
- The majority of respondents (65.9%) think that pores can shrink, open or close, when, in actuality, pore size is genetic; they cannot be shrunk or go away.

New Study Shows Skin Graft Appearance Improved By Laser
Fractional ablative resurfacing lasers, such as our Profractional,
are known to be effective for improving scars but a recent study published in Lasers in Surgery & Medicine showed that skin grafts were also improved by the treatment.
After 2 treatments done a month apart, the skin grafts showed smoother, more evenly pigmented skin that was still present when reevaluated a year later.

Reminder for Brilliant Distinctions Members - New Rules For Earning
Points
Brilliant Distinctions, the loyalty program that gives you points for instant savings when you purchase Botox, Juvederm, CoolSculpting, Kybella, & SkinMedica products, has new
rules. These changes are causing confusion for our patients who didn't know about them until they try to use their points.
Here is a summary of the Brilliant Distinctions rules on earning points:
Botox Cosmetic - Points can be earned on treatments at least 91 days apart
Juvederm dermal fillers (Juvederm Ultra & Ultra Plus, Voluma, Volbella, Vollure) - Points for a maximum of 4 syringes per day and yearly cap of 8 syringes
CoolSculpting - Points only if treatment intervals are at least 6 weeks apart with a cap of 16 cycles per year
Remember also that all points expire 9 months after the last eligible treatment
