This Sunday

This Sunday we welcome back Sue Smith to the pulpit.  She will be preaching  "ENGAGEMENT AS A MATTHEW 25 CHURCH"

Sue Smith is an elder and a member of First Presbyterian Church Rumson. She works for God's creation in both religious and secular organizations: from working to certify Rumson as an Earth Care Congregation, to representing GreenFaith on the Coalition for Healthy Ports, to board membership with Clean Water Action's NJ chapter, to serving as Vice Moderator of Presbyterians for Earth Care. Sue holds a BA from Cornell University, an MBA from NYU and is an M.Div. graduate of New Brunswick Theological Seminary and a candidate in the PCUSA call process. She currently serves as Stated Clerk of Monmouth Presbytery.

This Sunday is also Healing Prayers - Everyone is  welcome to come forward for prayers of Healing, Wholeness and Thanksgiving during the final hymns.

Thank you to the congregation for donating and helping with this year's VBS.  We ask that you specifically pray throughout the week for the volunteers for wisdom and strength as they go through the week.  Also pray that the children attending gain an understanding of knowing God is always with them and that they are part of a bigger story.

Church Picnic  - Two Weeks Away
picnic

Have you signed up for the Church picnic?  Like last year, it will be held at Riverfront Park, Point Pleasant Boro, on August 26 from 10:00 a.m. till 2:00 p.m.

Worship begins at 10:00 a.m. followed by the picnic under the Pavilion. The theme this year is :  "OUR HOPES AND DREAMS AS A CHURCH"

What are you thankful for that God has already done for our Church?
What ministry has especially grown your faith?
What would you love to see God do for our church?
How does your faith play a part in the hope you have for your church?
In what area would you like to grow spiritually?
What is your prayer for the future of our church?
"For nothing will be impossible with God." Luke 1:37

The annual all-church picnic is a memorable occasion where families relax and enjoy an afternoon outdoors together, sharing food, conversation, and playing games.  Attached to the Maxson Avenue Municipal Beach is a beach area that can be used for fishing or crabbing.

We ask that you sign up to bring either an Appetizer, Salad or Dessert. We will have Jersey Mike's Subs this year. Look for the yellow sign up sheet in the Narthex.

As in years past, we will make every effort to reach our goal of 100 people to sign up.  Currently we are under 50 people right now.  Help us reach our goal!

Presbyterian Women - Get Ready to Start Up

On Monday, August 27th at 9:15 a.m. the Coordinating Team for the Presbyterian Women will be starting back up.  We will meet in the Chittick Lounge.

We are looking forward to another great year of growing in faith, prayer, study, mission, working for peace and justice as well as continuing to build an inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and witnesses to the promise of God's kingdom.

The PW Directory will be available at that time.  Please contact the office right away if you have not submitted your circle information.

Susan Robbins continues as the PW Moderator. With many different PW circles, there are circles that meet on a variety of days and times. Sue Hankins also continues as the Membership Coordinator.  You can call her at 732-458-3823 to find the right circle for you!    All women in the church and community are welcome to join a circle, and church membership is not required.
