Buell Foundation Continues Amazing Support of Dreamer Scholars
Buell Foundation logo
Since we continue to not charge tuition or fees for any of our programs, we remain deeply grateful to our funding partners who ensure that we uphold the highest quality programming for our youth.

For the 2019-20 school year, the Buell Foundation awarded IHDF $25,000 in support of our Dreamer Scholar Empowerment Program.
These funds will help provide training to IHDF staff and comprehensive sexual health education to Dreamer Scholars through direct programming, parent engagement, and alternative activities in partnership with Planned Parenthood of the Rockies.

IHDF is grateful to the Buell Foundation for remaining one of our most steadfast supporters since 1999.

Highlights From Fall 2019 Sponsor Update
In November, Dreamer Scholar Sponsors attended an update meeting, where staff shared successes and challenges from program sites as well as high-level strategy for the organization. Here are a few highlights from the meeting:

  • As you've heard, Lori Canova is retiring and will be working to help "I Have A Dream" as we transition to new leadership
  • VP of Programs Garett Brownlee Plantz shared that we now have 13 program sites, serving 750 students. This represents rapid growth and achievements exceeding our 5-year goals established in 2015.
  • We are entering a strategic planning process to discern what the next 5 years will look like for the organization.
  • Program Director Seth shared the story of Josh, a student who has recently recommitted to school after considering dropping out. Josh's relationships with trusted adults like Seth have helped him make this decision to recommit to his studies.

Dreamer Scholar Sponsors support "I Have A Dream" with a pledge of $3,000 per year for 10 years.
