The Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs is hiring an Accounting Technician. This position will provide support to the MCACA and involves working closely with the Executive Director and MCACA's analysts to ensure appropriate accounting and accuracy related to MCACA grant funds. This includes all aspects of the grant award process including maintaining applicable databases, grant contracting, journal entries, payment processing, financial reports, year-end activities and developing and maintaining financial procedures and related duties as requested.
The MSU Museum, the university's museum of science and culture, invites applicants for the position of American History Curator. The Museum is committed to exploring the natural universe and humanity's place within it. This curatorial position, which includes teaching one course per year, is responsible for helping steward, research and interpret the Museum's rich history collections.

Conferences, Classes and Creative Opportunities
Habitat for Humanity Young Professonals need your expertise! Give new life to an item from the Habitat Restore, and your artwork will be auctioned to support Habi-Kids Build Club.
Choose from doors, lamps, cabinets and more! Submissions must be functional pieces, and artists receive a portion of the sale of their work. Go to the website to fill out an entry form.
Michigan Audobon's CraneFest
features the work of some of Michigan's top professional artists. A variety of nature-themed art is on display and offered for sale. In addition to the artwork, cranes and fall colors, CraneFest features family-friendly guided nature walks, kids educational activities, live birds of prey, picnic areas and food concessions and much more. They are still accepting applications for vendors.
The Arts Council partners annually with Adams Outdoor Advertising for its Art in the Sky program. Through this juried art program, billboards are produced featuring the art of area artists. This collective art installation is a well-recognized aspect of our region's landscape and is celebrated by residents and visitors alike. The billboards are placed in locations throughout Greater Lansing and then are periodically moved to different locations outside the area to attract visitors to the region. Deadline to apply is Sept. 24.
Lansing Art Gallery is seeking contemporary fine art, inspired modern craft and items designed by Michigan makers for the Michigan Made: 2018 Holiday Exhibition. It will feature artworks that range from fine art to small gifts, including jewelry, paintings, pottery, leather goods, metal work, paper products, glass works, woodworking and more. Submission deadline is Sept. 1.
Now through Aug. 31, Capital Area District Libraries wants you to submit your version of the song "Right Here" by Taylor Taylor for a chance to perform during next year's Common Ground Music Festival and receive a $500 Marshall Music Gift Card. This
contest is open to solo singers, groups and bands.
There will also be prizes for contestants finishing in second and third place.
Nicolas V. Sanchez got his start as an art student at Lansing Community College. Sanchez wishes to support talented and ambitious art students at LCC with a $1,000 scholarship and an opportunity to enter into a mentorship with him. This scholarship hopes to provide an opportunity to further a young artist's development through life experiences and art education. For more information contact the program coordinator directly.

AMP [Your City] Grant Awards
|
The Levitt AMP [Your City] Grant Awards are specifically designed to meet the needs and capacity of small to mid-sized towns and cities.
The Levitt AMP [Your City] Grant Awards is an exciting matching grant program made possible by the
Mortimer & Mimi Levitt Foundation, a national creative placemaking funder dedicated to strengthening the social fabric of America through the power of free, live music.
Grants will be awarded to up to 15 U.S.-based nonprofit organizations serving towns and cities with populations of up to 400,000.
Each grantee will receive $25K in matching funds to present the Levitt AMP [Your City] Music Series, a minimum of 10 free outdoor concerts presented over 10 to 12 consecutive weeks during 2019.
Each Levitt AMP Music Series will feature a musically diverse lineup of high caliber entertainment, in keeping with the permanent Levitt venue program.
To ensure each grantee is positioned for success, grantees will receive a Levitt AMP Toolkit containing valuable resources, such as a sample artist contract; sample press release; hosted series pages on the Levitt AMP website; eblast and social media templates; list of talent managers and music agents from across the country; sample sponsorship packet; and consultation with national staff at the Levitt Foundation.
Applications are due Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2018 at 8:00 PM EST.
