Inclement Weather Day Usage
On Friday, February 7, 2020, classes were canceled due to inclement weather. This inclement weather day counted as one of the four built-in days that NASD scheduled for the 2019-2020 school year. While Pennsylvania law requires public schools to provide 180 days of instruction each year, North Allegheny scheduled 184 days to allow for the possibility that up to four days might be canceled due to bad weather or other emergencies.
As of February 14, 2020, there are three built-in days remaining to allow North Allegheny to cancel school for inclement weather or other emergencies. If the remaining three days are utilized, we will then proceed with utilizing Flexible Instructional Days.
The District is continuing to finalize plans for the Flexible Instructional Days and will communicate those plans to families in the coming weeks.
