Lots of great choices on this Valentine's weekend! Barefoot Becky & The Ivanhoe Dutchmen are in Mission Friday night, Houston Saturday night, and Fort Worth Sunday afternoon. 

Polka notes: It's dinner AND dancing at the Geronimo VFW hall on Sunday. Czechaholics provide the music and the VFW Auxiliary will be selling a large bratwurst plate for $10 consisting of 2 brats, German potato salad, cucumber salad, sauerkraut, red cabbage, and dinner roll. Kitchen opens at 1 pm...The dance in Huntsville with Mike Gest & Night Session scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 20 has been changed to Thursday, Feb. 27.

Young Accordion Players Are Invited to Learn, Compete and Engage in Live Music Events Across the State!

The 14th annual Big Squeeze Accordion Contest announces its dynamic 2020 event lineup featuring youth competitions, live concerts and music workshops in traditional Texas accordion music genres including conjunto, polka, Cajun, zydeco and more. From February to April, the Texas Folklife team will produce local events in communities across the state - each uniquely highlighting talented young accordion players and celebrating Texas' diverse musical heritage. The competitions and workshops are open to the public and seeking participants.

One morning Emma woke up with a start. Her husband Jim asked what was the matter, she told him, "I just had a dream that you gave me a pearl necklace for Valentine's day. What do you think it means?"

"You'll know tonight," Jim said.

That evening, Jim came home with a small package and gave it to his wife. Delighted, Emma opened it - only to find a book entitled "The meaning of dreams".
