ESCC has been asked to gauge interest in shared transportation to the 2018 Grey Matters conference in Calgary, September 25 - 26. If there is enough interest, ESCC will book a van/bus. Costs will be determined based on the type of transportation required. The van/bus will leave Edmonton on September 24 and arrive back later in the day on September 26.

The Edmonton Chamber of Voluntary Organizations is partnering with the Government of Alberta and the Alberta Gaming, Liquor & Cannabis to deliver a bylaws session for non-profits registered under the Societies Act.

Representatives from non-profits will gather for one evening to explore bylaw requirements, recommendations, and proven practices. This session will be an in-depth exploration of the areas that you need to cover, key questions your board and membership need to answer, and recommendations on how to structure your bylaws to support your organization in moving forward.

Speechreading is a skill that can be learned through study and practice. These classes will introduce you to various cues such as movement of the lips, tongue, jaw and facial expressions as well as other cues making it possible to visually understand and communicate. Hearing loss involves learning to cope and understand an invisible disability. Coping strategies go hand in hand with speechreading and its success. You will learn new strategies and information every class.
