SIZEMORE, SMITH & MORE SCORE ON SPEEDROME SPONSOR NIGHT
The Tom Wood Group Indianapolis Speedrome Powered by Lincoln Tech launched a doubleheader racing weekend on Friday August 3rd. The Brown’s Oil Service Late Models headlined with a 50-lap Figure 8. There was an epic first half duel between Casey White and Tim Logue. A mid race red brought on a wild restart. Tommy St John made it 3 wide but contact unfortunately affected the trio’s traction. Chad Sizemore marched through to win his second Figure 8 of the season. Jesse Tunny took second and Steve Durham third.

There was another strong field on hand Friday in the Stock division. Vic Boicourt lept off the line for the early lead in the 30-lap main. Kevin Smith then moved on top but soon after had his hands full with Ricky Schaeffer III, while they battled, veteran Doug Greig rose to challenge Ricky for runner-up. Contact eliminated the air from Greig’s tire and his chances. Smith drove smartly on to his first Stock victory. Greg Snow was second followed by Schaeffer.

The Last Chance Wrecker Factory Front Wheel Drive roster roared into action with rookie Jeremy Tunny vying to continue his Speedrome family legacy taking the early lead in the 30-lap feature. He clicked off quick laps for two-thirds of the contest until heavy traffic brought several other speedsters into the mix. A five-way fight now was at center stage as the checkered flag neared. It was anyone’s to grab. April-May-June champ Andrew Brown emerged to win. Trae Bowman snagged second and Tunny third.

The Superior Finish Lawn & Landscape INEX Legends were on night two of a triple header weekend. After an evening at the Anderson Speedway on Thursday, Friday brought a 35-lap Speedrome main event. Veteran James Edsall jumped off his outside front row starting spot to lead. Son Alan and Ohio’s Zach Miller were on the prowl for victory. Miller applied pressure on James lap after lap. Zach slid inside a tiny opening on the final circuit to steal the triumph from James. Alan Edsall was third.

The Adult Faskarts worked hard Friday to put on a great performance for the fans. Point leader Kyle Norris would continue his winning rampage taking the 25-lap feature trophy. The rising star of the contest was lady speedster Skylar Shouse. She picked a second place result just weeks after moving up from the Junior Faskart division. The night’s podium was rounded out by Dave Drinkard. Dave is the only 2018 series competitor to finish in the top five in every event.
