Children's Ministry News

Thank you so much for all your love and support for HHCM! God continues to work in the lives of our kids. Each week we see over 100 little ones hearing the truths of Scripture from Sunday morning to Wednesday night and more. We are beginning to recruit for volunteering in HHCM over the 2020-2021 school year. Included in the article, is a picture that shows the areas you can serve. You can also visit  www.hayshills.com/hhcmvolunteer for more info. Some of the roles are interacting directly with kids and some are more administrative. If you are interested in this opportunity to serve please feel free to ask me any questions at  [email protected]

Here is a testimony from Robert Valdez about working with out kids. " I was praying to the Lord about how I could best serve Him at HHBC, which led me to the AWANA Verse-a-thon in May 2017.  At the verse-a-thon I helped a second grade boy memorize a couple of verses.  I found it to be such a joy to help him memorize and recite God's word that I knew this was the ministry for me.  As a result, I've been an AWANA leader for the 3rd and 4th grade boys since the Fall of 2017.  As a leader I'm seeing firsthand how the Lord has been working in the lives of children here at Hays Hills as they grow in their spiritual walk with Jesus by memorizing His word."

Discipleship and Education

Please pray with me about the possibility of starting a marriage ministry at Hays Hills this fall.  Two couples are stepping forward to work in this ministry, and others are welcome and needed.  Pray.

The church outside the walls.  The one time that our community can see us en mass outside our walls is Drive Through Prayer.  We get many waves, smiles and honks, so we know that the community mostly is positive about our offer of free prayer.  We have had dozens of people pull in for prayer for what they are dealing with, and along with prayer they often receive a simple gospel presentation and some information about life in Christ.  We need more wavers and sign-holders (we have plenty who are prepared to pray with folks)  We need families to come be a part of this ministry.  You can safely stand up high on our property at the parking lot and you won't be close to the highway at all.  Please mark these three dates on your calendar and come be a part of this gospel-ministry:
March 7, April 18, May 9.  We offer a guarantee of blessing for those serving this way!

What's in a name?  Our Sunday afternoon classes on various topics (Fall and Spring semesters) will now all come under the title: Adult Advanced Training.  Our next Adult Advanced Training class starts THIS SUNDAY February 16 at 4:30 in Bldg. E: "Tell It: how to do your most important mission on earth"

Austin Disaster Relief Network seeks more volunteers.

CLC News
by Mitzi Hudgins

We have been having fun and learning at the Christian Learning Center!  Last week we enjoyed a visit from Mr. Mike with the Austin Reptile Show.  The children were able to see different types of reptiles up close and learned some very interesting facts about them!  I must say we had some very brave children!

One of the traits that we teach the children at CLC is to be kind to one another and to be a good helper, especially at home.  The children enjoy role playing in the classroom learning centers by taking care of babies, cleaning up in the classroom with pretend vacuums, mops, and brooms, and finding ways to be a good friend by helping others.  Children LOVE to help, and it is so important to be a good helper at all times!  I know that the children will be excited to go home and continue to be good helpers at home!

We are also celebrating Valentine's Day this week by making cards and gifts for others to show our love for them, and we introduced our Bible verse for the month in chapel:  "Love one another" 1 John 3:23.

May you be blessed this week!

What a privilege it was to have Dr. George Yancey with us on Sunday evening to help us think through issues of racial reconciliation from a biblical perspective. Special thanks to our sister, Harriet Johnson, for sharing with us as well.

It was a tremendous encouragement to have so many of you in attendance and to witness the hospitality you extended to our guest, Dr. Yancey.

If you were unable to attend, you can watch the video from the evening on our website
