Looking Back at Cinco de Mayo
We had a great and successful event at the Cinco de Mayo race on May 5th! This was our fourth year hosting this race and our turn out was fantastic. For all of you who were able to participate, THANK YOU!!! We couldn't have done it without you.

For those of you that missed the festivities, here are some pictures for you to enjoy....

Want to Read Again?

Do you or a loved one have a disability that interferes with your love of reading? Well, we have a solution for that! The National Library of Congress has a program called the National Library Service (NLS), which "is a free braille and talking book library service for people with temporary or permanent low vision, blindness, or a physical disability that prevents them from reading or holding the printed page. Through a national network of cooperating libraries, NLS circulates books and magazines in braille or audio formats, delivered by postage-free mail or instantly downloadable."

If you would like to see a video on how this works, visit the NLS Website here.
A Big THANK YOU to Greater Keller Women's Club!!

Many thanks to the women of the GKWC who gave a generous donation to help us purchase catheters for our smallest clients. The GKWC fundraises all year to help local non-profits and students. What an amazing community of selfless women! Thanks from the bottom of our hearts!

A Big THANK YOU to Southlake Women's Club!!

Heartfelt thanks to the Southlake Women's Club for selecting NAF as a recipient of their Art in the Square fundraising efforts!! These ladies do so much in the community - they're just amazing and we are honored to be selected!

Be an ADVOCATE! Stand for someone who can't.
Are you an advocate?

According to Webster, an advocate is "one who pleads the cause of another" or "one who supports or promotes the interests of a cause or group". Individuals with disabilities may fine themselves in areas or situations where their needs aren't being met, and they may need someone to help them. To plead on their behalf. Can you be that person? It isn't always easy, or natural, to act as an advocate. If you need some general tips on how to be an advocate, visit the NBACL website  here
Introducing You to Our Clients
Meet Rylie....
Meet Amazing Rylie! We were proud to help this young lady (17  years old) with her first vehicle. She started her first job recently and to make her down payment, she sold her pig at the county fair for $6,000!  NAF was proud to give Rylie, and her service dog, Indi, some help with her down payment. Watch out world.....Rylie is strong, brave, kind and unstoppable!
Meet Eric....

Eric was injured in 2013 in a car accident and is living with a C7 spinal cord injury. Eric had asked NAF to help him get a standing frame to improve his health. It was delivered to him today! I bet he'll be in this frame and standing by this afternoon! Keep up the good work, Eric!

Meet Wayne...

Meet Wayne & his wife, Kristin! Wayne is 27 and was involved in a motor vehicle accident where he sustained a spinal cord injury at the C5 level. Prior to leaving rehab and heading home, NAF got the call that Wayne needed some exterior ramps on the front and back of his home as well as needing a doorway widened to accommodate his power chair. We were so pleased to help this wonderful young couple! This is where your donations go.
Welcome to the family Wayne & Kristin!

Meet Shaydon...

Look at this beautiful face! This is Shaydon, age 26. She woke up from a nap at the age of 13, paralyzed from the chest down along with her left hand, due to Transverse Myelitis. Shaydon reached out to NAF for assistance with some therapy and we were so honored to help. Welcome to the family, Shaydon!

We Need Your Help

Donate ~ Sponsor ~ Volunteer

Your $25 donation will help provide clean catheters to a paralyzed child for one month when their insurance won't cover the expense.

Your $100 donation will help build a wheelchair ramp so we can get our clients out of rehab and through their front door at home.

Your $200 donation will help widen the doorways in their homes so their wheelchair can fit through the bathroom door. Insurance doesn't covers home modifications.

Your $500 donation will help provide life-changing medical equipment: wheelchairs and specialized shower chairs, etc. Most insurance only covers a small part of wheelchairs, if any, and no "bathing aids" are covered.

No donation is too small. Click here for more information.
