We hope this newsletter finds you and your family safe and well.

Recently, we have been looking at our designation of "temporarily closed" on Google and are realizing that it may be time to change it. During the worst of the pandemic in our area, though our doors were closed, we were there for our community. We collected PPE and ran emergency child care for essential workers. We continue to host blood drives, food distributions and check-ins with our vulnerable members.

As New Jersey has lifted restrictions with guidance, we have been slowly adding back the programs that brought our members to our Y: camp, child care, group exercise, personal training, and soon lap swimming. It may look a little different but still reflects our mission of healthy living, youth development, and social responsibility.

We are still the Y.

Until we see you again,

Take care. We miss you. Stay Safe.
OUTDOOR GROUP EXERCISE AT CRANE PARK THIS SATURDAY
The Township of Montclair and the Montclair Center Business Improvement District (BID) have partnered to make municipal spaces available to support local businesses and organizations.

The YMCA of Montclair has been provided dedicated space at Crane Park for instructor-led fitness classes. There are 60 socially-distanced spots – 35 for members and 25 open to members of the public on a first-come, first-served basis.

Participants must pass a temperature check and answer a health screening. Masks are required at check-in. Mask wearing is not required during the exercise class. Bring a mat, water bottle and workout towel — and good energy🧘.

WHEN: Saturday, July 25 at 9am Vinyasa Yoga with Sharon and Saturday August 1 at 9am Boot Camp with Chris.
LOCATION: Crane Park is on Glenridge Avenue in Montclair across from the Geyer Family YMCA.
COST: FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.

And don't forget, we have outdoor group exercise open for members at the Park Street YMCA. Reserve your spot on our MotionVibe program.
SAVE THE DATE: BRAVE SPACE COMMUNITY DIALOGUE
Our next Brave Space Community Dialogue will be on July 28 at 6pm. Chief of Police Todd M. Conforti and Deputy Chief of Operations Wilhelm Young will be in attendance. The meeting will be held on Zoom. Click here for more information. We hope you can attend.
STAFF SPOTLIGHT: MOYLAGH NARGISO & NIKI MAFFETTONE

The song's refrain (you know the one) is 'Who Run The World', well here at the Y who keeps our facilities running are Moylagh Nargiso and Niki Maffettone (just don't call them girls).

Moylagh is a bona fide Y kid, having grown up at the YMCA of Montclair. She learned to swim at the Y, did camp, sports, and even cheer. Moylagh started volunteering at the Y when she was 13 and then joined the staff at 16 working at Geyer Family and then Park Street. She has done everything from kids programming, camp, membership, nursery, and even finance. But in May of 2019, she took a job as a Facilities Technician and found her passion. Moylagh loves working with her hands. She found that fixing things, making the building look better and improving the place she grew up in has been a source of real satisfaction.

Niki's childhood YMCA of Montclair experience centered on Adventure Guides. She and her dad would go to Frost Valley twice a year from elementary school through high school. After college, Niki went into the Peace Corps as a youth development volunteer focused on teaching English and sports in the Ukraine. In January of 2020, she was hired in the Y's School Age Child Care Program which was suspended in March due to COVID. In June Niki became a Facilities Technician. Niki loves the diversity of each day and seeing how each task makes the Y look and work better. She enjoys learning different trades like painting and plumbing and how to handle tools.

Together, this duo handles it all from assembling shelves to recently battling the torrential rains of Tropical Storm Fay to unclog storm drains on our roof. We could not be in better hands.
