Art Show 2020
Get ready for the 2020 "Cossitt Creates" Art Show which will be held on the evening of Wednesday, March 4th! We need lots of adult help and student participation to make this event a success. The art show will display grade level projects being made in art class, and showcase the creative talents students are developing independently too!  
Students can submit their original, independent work in the sign-up link below.

Order Your Cossitt Yearbooks Today!
This full-color, 80+ page yearbook captures student events, activities and memories from the 2019-2020 school year. Yearbooks are $14 each and must be ordered online. They will be distributed to students during the last week of school.

This is the only time of year for Cossitt yearbook orders (meaning you did not order Cossitt yearbooks in the fall when you may have ordered them for Park or LT).

To order yearbooks:
1. Visit our vendor store here
2. Select the 2020 yearbook
3. Enter student info and homeroom teacher, click "Next", verify info and click "Add to Cart"
4. To add a yearbook for another child, click "Continue Shopping" and repeat the process for each additional child
5. When you've ordered all yearbooks for your family, click "Checkout"
6. Keep your order confirmation, which will be emailed to you. This is your proof of purchase.

Spring Clothing Sale!  
SPRING CLOTHING SALE - SAVE THE DATE!

It's time to think about shorts, sandals and summer dresses! The Spring Clothing Sale is exactly one month away! Mark your calendar now- Saturday, March 14 from 8am-1pm. 

Please consider getting involved in Cossitt's largest fundraiser as a seller, shopper, and/or volunteer. 

Visit   the clothing sale website  for seller registration and additional information. Keep an eye out next week for the volunteer registration signup and get the first chance to stock up at the presale.

Would you like to DONATE clothes to the Clothing Sale and avoid tagging, pinning, and hanging? Drop off your items at 416 S. Edgewood by noon on Sunday, March 8 and we will do all of the work. All of the proceeds go straight to Cossitt! Wire hangers or LARGE safety pins would also be greatly appreciated.

Historical Society Social Fundraiser!

Smiles and Files - a night at the La Grange Historical Society: Every house in La Grange has its own file, stored in the La Grange Historical Society archives. Each participant will have their home file ready for viewing. There will be prizes for the largest file, greatest "love story" and other mysterious categories. Champagne and sweet treats will be served.  Join us for this fun event on February 20.  

2020 Cossitt STEM Workshop
The Cossitt PTC is excited to sponsor four free IMSA Workshops in the Cossitt STEM Lab on Thursday, March 5th from 10am - 3:30pm (this is the day of parent-teacher conferences so the kids do not have school).  IMSA Workshops will be open to students in the 3rd through 6th grades. Students that wish to attend must sign up to attend one, one-hour workshop.  This event is free thanks to the PTC!

What is the STEM Expo?  

STEM EXPO 2020 will showcase the talents of K - 6 students in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and creative Making. This event is designed to show off those talents in the scientific areas. We look forward to many different kinds of projects and students to share what they have learned. STEM EXPO is an event, like an old-fashioned science fair, but non-competitive, you are all winners!

Cossitt Movie Morning at La Grange Theater!

Join us for a free movie on Monday February 17, 2020!

To express our gratitude for all Cossitt PTC members and volunteers, we are pleased to sponsor a FREE movie morning at the La Grange Theater, 80 South LaGrange Road.

Monday, February 17, 2020 (no school due to President's Day)
Doors open at 9:10. Movie starts at 9:30

Concession stand will be open for purchases.   Children must be accompanied by an adult. Siblings are welcome.

The Movie will be Spies in Disguise.  Please sign up on the link below, space is limited. (Note: if you sign up and change your mind once we know what movie will be shown, it's no problem to cancel.)

K-3 Friendship Workshop
Star K-3 Friendship Workshop 2020

Registration is open for the Star K - 3 Friendship Workshop for girls and boys. During this 2.5 hour event your child will have fun while gaining valuable information through discussions, role play, games, a craft and yoga, learning about friendships, the struggles they can bring and how they can navigate through them. A snack will be provided.   Register your child soon as limited space is available!  

Date: Saturday, March 7th, 2020 Time: 9:30am - noon
Place: Ogden Ave Elementary Cost: $30

Race to the Finish!
District 102's annual 
Race to the Finish 5K and 1 Mile Run/Walk
Sunday, May 3, 2020 at 8 AM 

This event benefits the PTCs for ALL six schools in District 102. The event starts & finishes at Forest Road School traveling a course through the scenic streets of LaGrange Park and concludes with a post-race party including music, vendors and food!

Third Grade CCC!
Thank you to all the volunteers, teachers, and staff for their help making the 3rd Grade Culture Walk CCC a success last week! A special thank you to Co-Chairs Jen Robison and Siobhan Greene, as well as to their committee chairs.  
 
We would like to thank La Buona Vita for donating food items to the CCC. Please consider 'liking' this business on Facebook or writing a Yelp review in thanks for their generous donation. And last, but certainly not least, thank you to all the parents who donated food or decorations for the event.
