Read on below for some event highlights. For more updates follow us on Facebook or Instagram

Did you know this entire event is organized each year by volunteers from the Atwater Village Neighborhood Council? We especially love inviting Santa + Mrs Claus down to hang out in our free Photo Booth, as well as the Writing Station where kids can pen personal letters to Kris Kringle himself. We'll even mail them for you - simply pop them into our special North Pole Mail Box in the AVNC tent.
Over the years, we've noticed that many Villagers enjoy bringing their pups to the Tree Lighting Festival. So this year we are offering your festive Fido or FiFi their 15 minutes of fame, plus prizes! Bring your pooch in their BEST holiday costume and wait for our Hosts to announce the doggie holiday costume contest! Parade your pup proudly across the big stage in their holiday best, and you both might walk away with some sweet Atwater swag!  PLEASE NOTE: All dogs must be friendly, and on a leash to be entered!
NEW! Real-life characters Elsa and Elena will be in the booth taking photos and signing autographs.  Whether you're a Villager from Atwater, Arendelle or Avalor, we know you will adore this new Princess Photo Booth brought to you by our friends at the Fenton Real Estate Team.
Sprinkle 'em? Frost 'em? Then hang or eat 'em! Come decorate the cutest ever cookies from The Village Bakery Cafe (thank you Barbara, Rich and the team). We'll have a yummy mix of shapes to decorate including Christmas Cat Cookies -- the purrr-fect shout out to Sante D'Or, the Cat and Kitten Rescue foundation in North Atwater AND the new "LA River Catz" mosaic tile mural being installed in Atwater Union created by legendary local muralist Leo Limon. Then head over to The Wilkinson Properties Group tent to make memories that will last a lifetime. These commemorative engraved ornaments are double sided for the family to decorate for your tree at home. Decorate, Donate + Design - voila!
For 30 years, the LAPD have spearheaded a city-wide Toy Drive in an effort to make sure that every child in Los Angeles receives a present this holiday season.  Our community (Northeast Los Angeles) has approximately 55,000 children 12 years old and younger, with a notable percentage living in poverty and with other socio-economic issues. Last year the LAPD Northeast Division gave away 700 toys to local children, and this year they've set their goal at 1000 toys! To contribute, bring an unwrapped, new toy to the Tree Lighting Festival this  Sunday. Our local officers will be there with their donation bin, located inside the Friends of Atwater Village tent
A Warm Thank You to

When you come to the event, please take a moment to share your gratitude with the staff at All'Acqua for graciously hosting our event for the third year in a row. We could not be more appreciative of Claudio and the team's support for our community. Thank you!
Councilman O'Farrell is lit!

Our Tree Lighting Event is a true collaboration of local businesses, elected officials, volunteers, schools, non-profits, and of course, the AVNC.

We are so grateful for Councilman O'Farrell's continued support in providing the beautiful lights for our tree each year.

Please make sure to tell him Thank You if you see him around town!
The Fun Doesn't Stop There!

As always, there will be much more merriment than this one email can possibly contain. From Candy Canes brought by the Griffith Park Lions Club to Giveaway Baskets provided by our local business community, this event has something for everyone. Special thanks to our MC/Hosts David the Elf and Daddy-Daughter DJ's Lonnie & Farah, plus  all our community partners including  Friends of Atwater Avenue Elementary, The Griffith Park Lions Club, Friends of Glenfeliz, Irving Middle School, Marshall High School, Supervisor Sheila Kuehl, Mayor Eric Garcetti, Assemblymember Laura Friedman, Senator Portantino, Councilman Mitch O'Farrell, and our local businesses who make this event special each year!
