  • A local meet that is run exactly like a national meet, including the equipment and the warm up room, so that the athletes can experience what that would be like.
  • Novice, Master, and Youth friendly.
  • $65 off when you register before March 1st 2019 - $70 after that point.

The Lehigh Valley Open is a USAW sanctioned weightlifting competition in historic downtown Bethlehem. This will be our 4th LVO and 9th meet in total! We've had over 600 unique athletes and almost 900 total athletes attend our meets in the past 3 years. This event is open to youth, junior, senior, and master ages, and novice lifters. Join the Lehigh Valley Barbell Facebook page for updates regarding sponsors and prizes. Also check out our website for more details. There are no refunds, so please be sure you can attend.

This event is free for spectators. Our Facebook page will have a livestream and we will have a ton of food, as usual. Please come and cheer on your friends, family, and peers.

We reserve the right to close individual sessions and/ or change times of sessions as we deem necessary to run a successful meet.

Tentative schedule until registration is closed. This may change based on registrations.:

Saturday: All senior lifters. First session weigh in is at 6am but will be 7am if possible. Session order and timing is based on what is best for all of the lifters. This could change depending on total number of registrations. If we have less than 80 lifters, we may have EVERYONE lift on Saturday. We do anticipate this being a two day event though.

Sunday: All youth, junior, master and novice lifters. First session weigh in at 6am unless we can do 7am. In the event that we can run the entire meet in one day we will move this to Saturday. That isn't likely, though.

Clothing: A weightlifting singlet is encouraged. Here are the official guidelines: http://www.iwf.net/wp-content/uploads/downloads/2015/01/141231-IWF-Guideline-for-Outfit.pdf

Awards: Medals will be given to the Top Three lifters in senior, youth, and junior classes. Overall top three medals will be given to masters, and to the novice session.

Weigh In: All youth athletes must weigh in their singlet as per the new rules. There will be no exceptions.

A valid USA Weightlifting membership is required to compete in this meet regardless of whether you're competing in the Novice or Open category. You can follow the link and register now, or you can do so later on. You will need to present a digital or paper copy of your USAW card at the competition when you sign in. A computer can be provided to help you to sign up on the days of.
