IvyNotes: October 8th

Director's Note

We hope you'll spend a few minutes scrolling down and reading about upcoming programs and special events. Fall can be such a busy time of the year and we hope IvyNotes will help keep our community organized.

Attention Maryland families - don't miss the information and link for LISS funding. The deadline to apply is October 31st.

Thanks to our PTA for partnering with us for our next Music for Autism concert on Saturday, November 17th. We hope many of you will be able to join us.

Only 27 days until the Ivymount Gala at the National Cathedral! Thanks to all of our families and staff for helping us organize such a fabulous event. Reminder to purchase tickets this week if you are planning to attend and have not done so yet.

Thanks to HCS (Health Care System) for hosting their annual Life Enrichment Awards Program last Thu rsday.

Congratulations to Ivymount's Aiden Hadley and Frances Milburn, "LEAP" award recipients who attended the special event.

Aden used his award to take art lessons while Frances was able to purchase an iPad mini and the My Pictures Talk app.

Have a great week,
Susan Holt

Interested in being a Room Parent?

Being a Room Parent provides a great opportunity to get to know other parents.
We appreciate the great response we've received to the PTA's request for volunteers to serve as Room Parents!
We have a few classrooms that still need a Room Parent:
170, 206, 209, 231, 234 and 236.
If you have a son or daughter in one of these classrooms, please consider volunteering to be a Room Parent. It's not a lot of work, can be done at night or on the weekends, and mostly involves sending emails. Please contact:  Merrill Spiegel at  [email protected].

Box Tops for Education

Our BOX TOP COLLECTION contest
will end Friday, October 19th.

The class with the most Box Tops will win
an Amazon gift card for their teacher to
buy something special for their class.

Please include your classroom number on the Ziplock bag or envelope.
If possible, please bundle in bunches of 10 or 50  and let us know the number you are submitting.  These can be sent to school via backpack or delivered to the Ivymount PTA mailbox.  Each Box Top=10¢ for our school and goes to the PTA.
