Circuit Court Judges Announce the Appointment of Kimberly Hinkley as County Clerk/Register of Deeds
On Monday, Feb. 10, the Calhoun County Clerk Appointment Committee unanimously appointed Kim Hinkley as Calhoun County Clerk and Register of Deeds. She will be sworn in to the office Tuesday, Feb. 11, by Chief Judge Michael Jaconette. Hinkley has served as Interim Chief Deputy of the Calhoun County Clerk's Office since Norlander's retirement.

Former Clerk and Register Anne Norlander retired Jan. 31, 2020, after serving for 31 years. Hinkley will serve the remainder of Norlander's term, until a newly-elected Clerk begins his or her term Jan. 1, 2021.

Pursuant of MCL 168.209, the Calhoun County Clerk appointment committee consisted of the four Circuit Court Judges:

  • Judge John A. Hallacy, Presiding Circuit Judge
  • Judge Sarah S. Lincoln
  • Judge Brian K. Kirkham
  • Judge Tina Yost Johnson

Applicants for the position included Jeffrey Albaugh, Andrew Helmboldt, Anita Glynn, Teri Loew, and Tino Smith. The judges were impressed by all applicants but found Hinkley to be the most qualified to fill the position.
