FEBRUARY 2021
WELCOME TO OUR WINTER NEWSLETTER
Months and dates shown on a calendar whilst turning the pages
Hello!

We're excited to see our calendars show 2021 as we see hope on the horizon . . . traveling is creeping back into our vocabulary, shots are going into arms and most importantly, most of our friends and neighbors are surviving this pandemic.

We are continuing to offer world class scuba education, with our open water dives to Utah being more popular than ever. We've had several group trips go as planned, with many more on the near horizon. And manufacturers are catching up with the backlog, so we're stocked when you're ready for that new regulator or BCD!

Thank you so much for continuing to patronize One World, and we look forward to many good times ahead!

KEEPING UP WITH TRAVEL
Who's open? What are the latest CDC recommendations and requirements? Can I get home?

We understand all the confusion with continually evolving travel requirements and advice. Let our full time travel specialists help guide you through these challenging obstacles. They know who's open (or who's about to open), who's delaying their opening, what requirements you need and can answer all your questions about traveling during the "new normal".
HAVE YOU TESTED POSITIVE FOR COVID?
Have you ever tested positive for COVID-19, or suspect you may have had the disease? If so, an appointment with your doctor should be top of mind prior to your next dive, whether that be in our pool or some exotic location.

Per recommendations by Divers Alert Network (DAN), the Recrational Scuba Training Council (RSTC) and the UC San Diego diving medicine practitioners, divers should wait between one and three months post diagnosis before applying for fit-to-dive clearance conducted by a diving medicine specialist, depending on the severity of the illness. And PADI requires any diver who has tested positive for COVID to have medical clearance prior to engaging in any diving activity. You can expect to complete these forms anytime you want to go dive.

The obvious concern is damage to your respiratory (lungs) and cardiac (heart) systems. Taking the time to see your doctor is a small price to pay versus the potential dangers of diving with compromised lungs or heart! And finding that out 60' down is definitely not recommended.

Pool
POOL NIGHT ~ Once a month, we open our pool for divers to come in after hours and splash around. This is a self guided review (there won't be an instructor on duty) but gives you a chance to set up your gear, blow bubbles, and keep things fresh between trips. If you can't make it to Pool Night, you can call us to book a Pool Workout whenever our pool is available. $25 covers your pool time, one rental tank and any scuba equipment you may need for Pool Night. Please call to RSVP, or sign up online , as we have limited availability each night.

The pool will be available from 6 - 9pm on the following nights::

  • March 24th
  • April 22nd
  • May 18th
  • June 17th

If our scheduled dates don't match up with your schedule, you can always arrange a pool workout. Give us a call to discuss.
Rescheduled trips have you miss your two year window to stay fresh? Then our Scuba Refreshers are the choice for you!

SCUBA REFRESHERS ~ If it’s been longer than 2 years since your last dive, then you’ll need a SCUBA REFRESHER. In this four hour class, instructors will share practical tips from their personal experience of diving and jump in the water with you to make sure you are comfortable setting up your gear, controlling your buoyancy and review your emergency skills. The class is offered three times each month, and is often required by a resort if you haven't been diving in a year. If you have been out of the water for longer than 10 years, you will need to schedule this class privately.

Call the shop at 303-220-8282 for more information or click here for information on our upcoming SCUBA Refresher courses.
