One in four women will experience domestic violence in her lifetime.

This November, help support domestic violence survivors in our community.

Join us in supporting Long Island Against Domestic Violence Inc. and the domestic violence survivors they serve through a community supply drive. We are collecting a variety of items (see list below) from Nov. 5 to Nov. 16.

This supply drive is a part of a multi-state Allstate Foundation Purple PurseŽ effort that will benefit more than 34 domestic violence nonprofits across the country. Items collected will directly benefit survivors of domestic violence and financial abuse* in our community.

Suggested supply donations:

Canned foods

Gift cards to Target, Kohl's, Walmart, etc.

Leggings

Sweatpants

Toiletries

T-shirts and sweatshirts

On a single day last year, more than 11,000 requests for emergency services went unanswered due to lack of funding. Your contribution can help offset program costs so Long Island Against Domestic Violence Inc. can continue to provide life-changing services survivors desperately need.

Allstate agency owners and financial specialists volunteer their time and support the charitable efforts of The Allstate Foundation. The Allstate Foundation's Purple Purse program is the longest running national campaign focused on ending domestic violence through a proven solution: financial empowerment services for survivors. *Financial abuse is one of the least known but one of the most powerful tactics to keep a victim from leaving a relationship. The tactics may include a victim having their spending tightly monitored or restricted by their partner, having their job jeopardized or their credit ruined, or being excluded from major budget decisions.
