Global Water & Food Safety Summit
GOHi Executive Director Wondwossen Gebreyes presented at this year's global scientific meeting held November 19-21 at the University of Maryland. The objectives of the summit were to (1) more deeply explore how to leverage the fusion of microbiological water sampling and whole genome sequencing on a global scale; (2) identify and mitigate the scientific and policy challenges surrounding effective water sampling and timely whole genome sequencing analysis; and (3) ensure that appropriate and optimal collection, isolation and characterization methods are fully validated and in place to support this global public health endeavor.
