Jesus Teaches
Throughout October, look for a series of messages from the Stewardship Committee that reflect on Jesus' teachings about money as well as personal statements from families and individuals about giving. These reflections and statements invite all of us to consider anew the meaning of Christ-centered stewardship. We will begin asking for your 2019 financial commitment after the Feast of All Saints' Day, November 1st.

"I still remember the first Sunday we attended Saint Paul's. We were tired, new parents of twins, and had been on a journey years long of finding an Episcopal church home that felt like the church I grew up attending in Arkansas. We walked up to the front steps and were immediately greeted by someone from the welcoming committee and, shortly to follow, by Fathers George and John. We looked at each other and knew this was our new "home." We give to Saint Paul's because we see a healthy place for our children and ourselves to grow closer to God. We give because this church sees the importance of giving laity the opportunity for responsibility. And lastly, we give to Saint Paul's because family takes care of family."

The Bible contains many different and different kinds of stories about God's creative and redeeming actions in the world. In this class we will consider what the Bible is and offer a framework for understanding its message today.

The short book Your Faith, Your Life: An Invitation to the Episcopal Church  will supplement and shape our conversations. All are welcome to drop in at any single session that piques your interest.

CHILDREN

WEAVING GOD'S PROMISES -- Ages 8-11 or Grades 3 - 5
Leader: Coleman Graham and company
Location: Blue Room, Children's Ministries Center

Our bigger children will immerse themselves in an Episcopal formation experience rooted in the stories of our faith as presented in Matthew's Gospel. In this first of a three-year cycle, our children encounter the story of our salvation from the fall to our redemption and how we fit into the story. Our theme in this curriculum year is "God loves us and stays with us-no matter what." Every session incorporates theology and history from our Episcopal-Anglican perspective. Questions??? Contact Coleman Graham or Fr. John.

GODLY PLAY -- 4s to 8, Kindergarten thru 2nd grade
Leaders: Kim Butler & Ivey Coleman
Location: Godly Play Room, Children's Ministry Center

We take children and their relationship with God seriously and seek to provide both space to foster encounters with God and the language necessary to make meaning of those experiences. Within the Godly Play classroom, the Biblical narrative is lovingly presented to children using beautiful materials with an invitation to step into each story with awe and wonder. Children are then allowed time to respond to and reflect on their experience of the story.
Questions??? Contact Kim Butler, Ivey Coleman, or Fr. John
