It is no secret that I have a great respect for all governing authorities that lead our nation and its authentic churches. While it is a challenge to respect some that hold these offices, I am reminded by our Lord to respect the positions each hold.
Every person is to be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God. Therefore whoever resists authority has opposed the ordinance of God; and they who have opposed will receive condemnation upon themselves.
(Romans 13:1-2)
I have maintained direct communications with several Presidents but my most rewarding contact has been with President Trump. Early in 2019, he said these words to me,
"Stephen, my Administration is making real change in Washington and creating a land of freedom and opportunity. Our Nations's economy is experiencing tremendous growth. Our country is roaring back more quickly than anyone could have predicted. From coast to coast, there is a renewed spirit of optimism, and the American Dream has never been more attainable."
Both you and I know that politicians make promises that they typically to not keep. On the other hand, every once in a long while, one comes into office that not only keeps their promises but exceeds them. This is the case with our present President. While I maintain having issues with some of his methods of communication, which I have personally shared with him several times, I have a deep respect for his office and his ability to keep his word. You see, Mr. Trump and I have many things in common. One leading commonality is, our devotion to make America great again. Our motives are a bit different but the results are the same.
My objective in Life is to make the Church Great Again. As with Mr. Trumps perspective regarding America, we have lost our power, punch and ability to preserve the Gospel. Not the Social Gospel, but the authentic Gospel in the Life of Jesus Christ.
I am asking that you take a few minutes out of your day to listen to a trending speech titled, "State of The Reunion Address," dedicated to President Donald Trump. I am certain you will be blessed and encouraged!
