Good afternoon,

We hope that you have had a productive winter season planning for busy tee sheets ahead while staying healthy and safe. The National Allied Golf Association of Alberta (NAGA AB) remains committed to working together on the behalf of the golf industry. We are pleased to see AHS proceeding through the various steps to re-opening and grateful that outdoor recreation has been permitted to be open during the past few months. We are so much further ahead as we enter our second season of managing COVID-19 protocols. As Alberta heads into Spring much earlier than last year and with golfers anxious to be able to play a round; we need to re-group and prepare for the season ahead.

Current guidelines for restaurant, retail and other gathering restrictions and business updates for current Step 2 can be located here.

We are expecting as Spring nears and we get closer to Step 3 re-opening announcements for the Province that we will receive a revision to our protocols. For those golf courses re-opening now, or soon, we suggest that you reach out to your local AHS rep for any expectations prior to re-opening in case adjustments are requested in relation to the current Step 2 guidance.

Presently the protocols covering the golf industry from June 2020 are still posted on Alberta Health Services Website and this document can be found on this page of the AHS site.

The National Allied Golf Association (NAGA) of Alberta continues to monitor the current situation and will update the industry with any future announcements with respect to golf protocols expected to come during the coming weeks. We wish all of you a wonderful golf season and look forward to busy tee sheets ahead.

Sincerely,
Erica Beck
