While we share dinner together, you will learn more about ZOE, hear stories about the children impacted, and learn how you can get involved. Please make reservations by Friday, August 3.

Menu: spaghetti, salad, bread, dessert.

Cost is $6 adults/$4 children ages 3-11.  Click HERE to make reservations online or contact Brandy Streett ( [email protected], 843.357.5180).

Waterfront Beautification Dedication

Sunday, August 12, 6 PM

by Henrietta Huff

How well I remember the first time Phil and I attended worship at Belin Memorial in the fall of 2000. I could only marvel at the natural beauty of the Inlet, the classic simplicity of the sanctuary, and the majestic oaks towering over it. Being a lifelong gardener, I also noticed one tree which grew in the parking area with only weeds at its base. How wonderful it would be to have a little garden there, I thought.

On Sunday, August 12, 2018, we will celebrate and dedicate that little garden which is now home to our historic stone bench (formerly one of the front steps for the original sanctuary building here as well as for St. John's Chapel, which was built at Wachesaw in the mid 1800s). The stone steps adjacent to that garden are given in memory of Gen. Bob Plowden who, following his retirement from the military, served with great dedication here at Belin Memorial.

We will also dedicate the other gardens which frame our sanctuary as well as the waterfront wall which not only provides safety for all those who come to our waterfront, but honors more than one hundred family members and loved ones with bricks engraved with their names.

Please join us at the seawall on Sunday, August 12, 6 PM to dedicate all of this to the glory of God and His kingdom here at Belin Memorial.

It may have taken awhile to establish that "little garden," but it has been well worth the wait, and I am grateful! I offer my profound gratitude to all who have been instrumental in seeing these projects to their fruition, most particularly the Belin Gardeners for all their hard work and patience.

Acolyte Training
Rising third graders interested in joining our Acolyte Team should attend the upcoming training.

8 AM - 1 PM
Family Life Center

Donate blood at the upcoming blood drive and receive a $5 Amazon gift card (by email). Sign up online at redcrossblood.org. Walk-ins are welcome but those with appointments will be given priority.

There is currently an emergency blood shortage, and donors are needed now. An estimated 38 percent of Americans are eligible to give blood, but of those, less than 10 percent actually donate each year. So, book your appointment, roll up your sleeve, and become part of the lifesaving mission of the American Red Cross!

Certified Expertise Needed
Sometimes God's plan for us is not always what we expect.

It is important to be prepared for anything and everything life throws at you. To help you in this preparation and to provide you with the knowledge you will need, Belin Memorial's Endowment Team will be hosting several events in September in which certified professionals will be providing information and answering questions related to end of life planning.

At this time, volunteers are needed to answer questions at these events. The Endowment Team is looking for certified expertise in the following areas:
  • Estate Planning Attorneys
  • Life and Long-term Care Insurance Experts
  • Funeral Home Directors
  • Financial/Retirement Planners
  • Social Security and Medicare Experts
Please contact Woody DuRant if you would be interested  in volunteering for these events, [email protected].

Support Groups
Several support groups meet monthly here at Belin Memorial. There is no cost to attend, and meetings are open to the community.
