Athletic Parent Message: The Parent Seat
Video explores the positive influence parents can have in their child's athletic participation.

Lancer Fans,

Lake Park High School is excited about the upcoming winter athletic season and hope that you are able to support our teams at both home and away games. As we prepare for the excitement, we are sharing a video developed by the National Federation of High Schools titled The Parent Seat that examines the role of parents in their child's athletic participation and what they can do to make it a positive experience for both the parents and athletes. We encourage you to watch it with your student and hope this useful resource fosters a positive dialogue.

ISBE School District Financial Profile
Lake Park earns impressive 4.0, the highest possible ranking, three years in a row.

The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) has developed the "School District Financial Profile" to help monitor the finances of school districts and identify which are in or are moving toward financial difficulty. This indicator was developed with the assistance of superintendents, school business officials, financial advisers, lawyers, and bond brokers. The financial profile identifies four indicators that identify the strength or weakness of a district:  Fund Balance to Revenue Ratio, Expenditure to Revenue Ratio, Days Cash on Hand, and Percent of Short-Term Borrowing Ability Remaining. For Fiscal Year 2019, Lake Park scored a 4.0 in all the identified indicators.

2019 - 4.00 Recognition
2018 - 4.00 Recognition
2017 - 4.00 Recognition
2016 - 3.90 Recognition
2015 - 3.90 Recognition

This five-year historical snapshot represents a testament to the the Board of Education's vision, the unwavering expectation for maintaining a balanced budget, and the hard work of the administrative team in collaboration with the Lake Park Education Association.
SAT Test Prep Course Deadline Nears
Register by Friday, December 6 for sessions beginning in January 2020.

In preparation for the  SAT  test dates available next spring for juniors, Lake Park High School will offer a course beginning in January 2020 to develop study skills to improve  SAT scores. In addition to English, reading and mathematics preparation, the course emphasizes  test-taking strategies and techniques. Students will gain insights to  SAT testing situations, practice and remediation, and explanations to  SAT questions and answer choices.

The Illinois State Board of Education is committed to assessing students through the SAT. More importantly for our students, the SAT is universally accepted as a college entrance exam for universities nationwide. Lake Park's SAT prep course is designed to help students improve the skills needed to raise their SAT scores.

Although the College Board provides preparatory materials online, this course is beneficial to students because it provides an authentic and interactive learning experience with detailed class instruction, textbooks and supplemental materials, and an intensive review session prior to the administration of the SAT at Lake Park on  April 14, 2020 .

Taught by certified instructors, the course is offered on either weekdays (Tues/Wed/Thur) after school or Saturday mornings. Registration with payment of $225 will be accepted until the  December 6, 2019  deadline or until all spots are filled.   View the course brochure for additional details and to complete an application .
