District begins process to fill School Board vacancy
Interested persons invited to submit letter of interest by Oct. 4
Kim Bailey
There is a vacancy on the Board of Education as
a result of the resignation of Kim Bailey, who has been appointed to the Missouri State Board of Education.
Bailey was the School Board President.
Board Vice President Paul Coffman is now serving as interim Board President.
Process to fill vacancy
The Board, by a majority vote,
will appoint a replacement to serve until the next Board election in April 2019.
The Board is
seeking interested candidates. The Board will screen the applicants and will select candidates to interview. Candidate interviews and the vote to fill the vacancy will occur in open session meetings.
Missouri residents for at least one year before the appointment
24 years old or older
Current with state, local, and property taxes
Submit a letter of interest
If you are interested in filling the vacant school board seat, please submit a letter of interest by Oct. 4.
In your letter, please include:
Current or previous involvement in the Ray-Pec School District
Experience in relevant leadership and governance positions
Attributes the candidate believes will make him/her an effective School Board member
Reasons for interest in serving on the Board
