Please drop off your donation of a frozen turkey and/or nonperishable foods at the truck parked at the west end of the church, just off the Main Street Entrance to the Chatham Middle School.

- The Community FoodBank of NJ supplies posters and the collection truck/driver.
- The Boy Scouts of Troop 8 supply all the labor the day of the drive.
- CUMC assists with: poster distribution, emailing local churches and being present the day of the drive (9AM-2PM)

Advent 2019 features the DVD-based study
Light of the World: A Beginners Guide to Advent
. Author, professor, and biblical scholar Amy-Jill Levine explores the biblical texts surrounding the birth of Jesus. Join her as she traces the Christmas narrative through the stories of Zechariah and Elizabeth, Mary, the journey to Bethlehem, and the Magi’s visit.

Cookies4Life!
All-ages, Intergenerational Event
Friday, December 6, 6:00 - 8:00 pm
All are invited for an evening of food, fun, and cookies! CUMC has been asked once again to provide 500 cookies for the inmates and staff at the Morris County Correctional Facility as part of the Chaplaincy’s Christmas Gift Collection. We’ll gather in Rodda Hall, enjoy some pizza (please bring some money to chip in), have fun activities for little ones and we’ll bake cookies, decorate plain, pre-baked, homemade cookies (no frosting), and package the cookies in Ziploc bags. It will be a wonderful time for all ages, and a great opportunity to bring a friend or two to church!

A Blue Christmas Service
is a time to acknowledge the feelings that surrounds Christmas for some of us, a time to remember the reason for those feelings, and a time to offer those feelings to God. This service offers a haven for people who desire a special touch from God during the holidays, and promises to be a time of quiet reflection, candle lighting, readings, singing, and prayer. We invite you to join us this Christmas season for a time of comfort and rest.
The service will be held in the Sanctuary and followed by light refreshments and shared fellowship. Please join us, and bring a friend.

Do You Know What a Confirmand Knows?
We discussed the most important moments in our lives and in the life of the Methodist church, especially those times when the church was divided – North v South and black v white. In the early 1800’s the African Methodist Episcopal church was formed, and though it’s considered part of the Methodist family, it remains a separate church to this day. In 1968 the EUB (Evangelical United Brethren) church merged with the Methodist church to become our current United Methodist Church. What attracted you to the United Methodist Church? . Set during the Salem Witch Trials of 1692,
The Crucible
is both a gripping historical play and a timely parable of our contemporary society.
Performances will be held Friday, November 22

Tickets for Thursday and Friday's performance are $12 for students/seniors and $15.00 for adults. Tickets are available for purchase at the door one hour before each performance.
This show contains mature subject matter and is recommended for ages 12+.

The Chatham Emergency Squad will be hosting a Blood Drive on
Saturday, December 7
th at the Borough Squad Building - 31 North Passaic Avenue. The hours of donation will be from
8:30am to 2:30pm.
Donors, ages 17-76, should be in good health and have some form of identification. Teenagers, age 16, can also donate with parental permission; forms for this will be available at the blood drive.
Donating is a wonderful way to begin the holiday season. And after donating, please sneak a peek at our Snow Village Winter Wonderland.
