We survived Hurricane Florence!
It started out as a Category 5 hurricane, then dropped to a Category 4, and by the time it hit the North Carolina coast, it was a Category 3 that had a reach of over 400 miles. We at Tapeworks are a good 120 miles or so from the coast, but that only meant that we had to wait a day for the rain to start hitting us. We probably got ten inches of rain over the last three days, and Ryan lost power for three days - turns out kudzu and power lines don't mix too well.
We have our hats off for the thousands of people all across North Carolina and the southeast for their constant efforts over the last four days. They have been running around fixing power lines and removing downed trees while most of us have been trying to stay put; we don't know what we'd do without them!
So until the end of October, we are going to donate 10% of our proceeds to the American Red Cross. We hope that you'll join us!
Customer Spotlight: Kiwi customer Peter Hay's Ducati
On January 31, 2018, we received an online order from Peter Hay who lives on the other side of the world. He has a Ducati 1098 and wanted a set of Rimstripes that would set his bike off from the rest. So he selected 1/4" Fluorescent Red (#6046-1/4-Std) and the Stripe-It-All Tool (#8000) and chose to have it sent USPS First Class Mail International to New Zealand. What happened was unbelievable AND NOT NORMAL for good old "Slow Boat" regular mail. Half the time we can't get mail across the USA in this timeframe and since First Class Mail does not have to be scanned, tracking is sketchy at best, and quite often non-existent. What follows is great but, from our experience, definitely not normal.
