House of Delegates Nominations Now Open
Missouri has three (3) delegates in the ASHP House of Delegates (HOD). Delegates are elected by ASHP members in the state of Missouri. MSHP facilitates the nomination and election process for the state of Missouri and submits names of the elected delegates to ASHP.

We currently have one (1) open delegate position available.

  • Elections will be held electronically
  • The elected delegate position is a 3 year commitment
  • Runners-up in the election will be assigned as alternates for a single year term based on number of votes received
  • There may be up to 3 additional alternate delegates
  • In the event there are not enough delegates or alternates to represent Missouri in the HOD, the president of MSHP or his/her designee(s) attending the ASHP Business Session will be asked to represent Missouri as to make sure Missouri is represented by the allotted 3 delegates

Call for Nominations:
  • Members may nominate themselves or another ASHP member
  • MSHP will verify the nominee’s interest in representing the state of Missouri and will confirm his/her ability to meet the delegate expectations (see below)
  • Prior to the election, nominees will submit a headshot photo, bio, and personal statement of why they would like to represent Missouri

Delegate Requirements:
Per ASHP bylaws, delegates must be active ASHP members. It is also required that delegates be members of the ASHP state affiliate, MSHP, as they are representing the interests of Missouri Society of Health-System Pharmacy.

Delegate Considerations:

  • Ability to attend the ASHP Annual Meeting (at personal expense).
  • Ability to attend the Regional Delegate Conference (RDC) with a limited reimbursement provided by MSHP to attend. Only the three elected delegates are eligible for the stipend, unless an alternate takes the place of an elected delegate.
  • Awareness of MSHP, state and national pharmacy issues.
  • Ability to voice issues representative of Missouri ASHP members at the MSHP Annual Meeting, the RDC, and the ASHP Annual Meeting.
  • Agreement to communicate the position of Missouri delegates when requested by the MSHP Board.
  • Willingness to follow up on MSHP issues or activities as applicable.
