The Chamber staff will be attending the Michigan Association of Chamber Professionals Conference next week.
We will be closing at 3:00 pm on Wednesday October 17 and remain closed until Monday October 22.

Pi or Pie?

Sunday is Funday at Secrets on Main located at 314 S. Main Street.  Stop in for tea time from 12:30 - 3:00 pm and or Pie Time from 3:14 - 5:00 pm to enjoy refreshments in a relaxing atmosphere. 

For those of you wondering why Pi, it was meant to be... Pi is 3.14 and Secrets on Main's address is 314, and to put the sugar on top... owner Laurie Musclow is a "championship" pie baker.  

It seems the stars have aligned and are pointing right at Cheboygan's newest gathering place for Sunday Funday!





Drive for your TEAM

Ten Northern Michigan Schools are getting a chance to show their school spirit and earn money for their Athletic Programs in the Fernelius Drive for Your Team on October 12, 19, and 26. Teams and their supporters can visit either location in Cheboygan: Fernelius Toyota Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram or Fernelius Ford Lincoln from Noon to 6 pm.

Northeast Michigan Works - Making an Impact

In the month of September, NEMC filled 101 positions for an  Economic Wage Impact of $3,165,905 and marketed 856 positions
for a Potential Economic Wage Impact of $26,831,833!

*              1,409 total visitors to NEMC offices
*              101 job seekers who have found employment with NEMC's help
*              51 total job postings NEMC has placed on PMTC for employers
*              204 job postings employers have placed on PMTC themselves
*              112 non-PMTC jobs we have posted in our offices

McLaren Northern Michigan CEO Announces Retirement

David M. Zechman, FACHE, President and CEO of McLaren Northern Michigan, announced on October 5th his intention to retire from his position at the end of the year.
 
Zechman joined McLaren Northern Michigan in November 2013. He brought a passion for quality and service excellence, as well as a keen understanding of the challenges facing health care delivery in the rural environment, having previously served in senior leadership roles at health systems in Missouri, Kentucky, and Florida.

Northland Players brings you another family favorite, just in time for Halloween, Oct. 25 to 28. Come see your amazingly talented friends, families and neighbors in this kid friendly musical comedy. I'll be honest, there are some shady characters in this cast, including Thing and It. They're creepy and they're kooky, altogether spooky.
