Roslyn Public Schools
SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS
January, 2020
Dear Parents & Guardians,

While there are no known cases of the coronavirus yet in our area, I wanted you to know that we are keeping a close eye on the situation in case there are any developments that may impact the schools directly. We are monitoring releases of information continually from federal, state and local health authorities.

At this time, there is no specific guidance regarding additional precautions for schools. We will continue to operate as usual and to adhere to common-sense practices that we follow during flu season each year: thorough cleaning and disinfecting of our facilities, reminding everyone to wash hands frequently, and to cover up when coughing and sneezing.

The website for the US Centers for Disease Control website is a good site for information on the outbreak: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html
As of the time of this writing, the site says, "While CDC considers this is a very serious public health threat, based on current information, the immediate health risk from 2019-nCoV to the general American public is considered low at this time."

We will keep you informed of any changes in the situation.

Sincerely,

Allison Brown
