Message From the Chapter President

Happy Women’s History Month! This month, not only do we recognize women’s contributions to history, culture and society, we take time to recognize women making history now and everyday. This includes all our amazing women of EWI, at home and work.

A special thank you to the 2020-2021 Board, serving by my side, YOU play a vital role in EWI of Milwaukee’s history! Abby Joyce, Anna Lucius, Marion Clendenen-Acosta, Laura Poll, Nickie Rouleau, Jackie Makinen, and Cynthia Ortega, Marjorie Yoshida and Rachel Adas.
I enjoyed seeing you all at our March Business Meeting. Each of our board members provided verbal reports, thanked their committees, and showcased the work they have done for the past 6 months. Huge thank you to Donna Munnik for closing out our meeting with fun activities all about lipstick!

As we look forward, with hopeful wishing for sunshine and Spring Flowers, I can’t wait to see you in April! We have a dynamic speaker lined up.
Don’t forget to fill out the 2021-2022 Board Year Straw Ballot and check out our tasty Easter Meal Raffle!

What did the duck say when she bought lipstick? "Put it on my bill." March 19th is National Let’s Laugh Day! Did you know that? Check out this day’s history.

My Life on the Road
By Gloria Steinem

NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • Gloria Steinem—writer, activist, organizer, and inspiring leader—tells a story she has never told before, a candid account of her life as a traveler, a listener, and a catalyst for change.

My Life on the Road is the moving, funny, and profound story of Gloria’s growth and also the growth of a revolutionary movement for equality—and the story of how surprising encounters on the road shaped both. From her first experience of social activism among women in India to her work as a journalist in the 1960s; from the whirlwind of political campaigns to the founding of Ms. magazine; from the historic 1977 National Women’s Conference to her travels through Indian Country—a lifetime spent on the road allowed Gloria to listen and connect deeply with people, to understand that context is everything, and to become part of a movement that would change the world.
