Special Announcements
Network For Youth is doing a collection of backpacks for homeless. Donna asks that backpacks are unfilled (easier for storage) and supplies grouped in items that fit together. Some ideas of helpful bag fillers include: wet wipes, deodorant, antibacterial hand gel, the little $1 rain ponchos, hand warmers, chap sticks, band aids, Tylenol/Ibuprofen, sanitary items for women, Kleenex packs, tooth brush/paste, socks, and snacks. Also, every Saturday, Donna makes a soup meal that is available all day for those in need of warm meal. She has started using the Bear Paw Soup Mix from the store. If you wish to drop off supplies, you can do so at Network For Youth, 21 S. 2nd Street, BRF.

The Alpaca General Store: It's that time of year again. The chill of an early fall reminds us that before we know it, winter will be at our doorsteps along with the season for gift giving. Scholarship Opportunity - The AXA Achievementsm Scholarship provides over $1.4 million in scholarships to young people throughout the nation representing all 50 states, Washington DC and Puerto Rico. Educational Opportunities
The Black River Area Chamber of Commerce, the Western Dairyland Business Center and the Western Wisconsin Women’s Business Center present the Business Bookkeeping with QuickBooks®.

This hands-on series is being held Monday evening on November 25, from 5:30pm to 8:30pm at the Black River Area Chamber of Commerce, 120 N Water St, Black River Falls, WI 54615 . Tuition is $39 for Chamber members and $49 for non-Members. Scholarships are available for income-eligible individuals. Laptops will be available for use during the class or you may bring your own.

Whether you are new to business bookkeeping or just new to the QuickBooks® software, this class will tie it all together. Learn the key financial terms and underlying concepts you need to know, as well as the practical, day-to-day steps to effectively manage your business bookkeeping and track your business growth. Small business owners, independent contractors, freelancers and self-employed individuals are encouraged to attend. In this class, you will learn the nuts and bolts of invoicing, billing, receiving payments, banking transactions and sales receipts. If time permits, we will also discuss how to run business financial reports and what should be in a chart of accounts. Bring your questions!

Class will be taught by Evlyn Carlile. Evlyn has more than 20 years of bookkeeping experience and is the owner of Simple Office Solutions. Simple Office Solutions has been helping Chippewa Valley business owners with everything from answering their bookkeeping questions to giving them monthly or quarterly financial reports since 2004. The basis for all services is getting each business owner set up with a tax-ready bookkeeping system they understand and can use.

21           Western Technical College - Lacrosse Campus will host a seminar on Forklift Train the Trainer. This Forklift Train-the-Trainer session focuses on the OSHA forklift regulations 29 CRF 1910.178. It is designed for forklift operators who desire to become trainers. The Highground is a 155 acre Memorial Park that pays tribute to the dead, and honors the survivors, their service, and their sacrifices. It also pays tribute to the people who supported them when they were away and upon their return. The Highground has a Dove Effigy Mound, a Meditation Garden, a developmental forest with 4 miles of hiking trails, and a Museum. We have now added a 300 acre camp just 20 minutes north of The Highground, which will be used to host Veteran Retreats and other Highground events. We continue to pursue our mission of healing and education through added tours, Educational Days, and various expos. We are a 501(c)3 grass-roots effort, with no ongoing federal or state funding. Volunteers and contributors are the Heart of The Highground.
