COMING HOME
Maggie Warner excited for Trinity Lutheran tour stop
with Chicago Concordia Kapelle Choir
Maggie Warner can’t wait.

The Davenport North grad will be coming home for a visit this weekend to share the love of Jesus through song, and she will be bringing 30 of her closest friends.

Maggie, who has worked in Trinity Lutheran's Summer Shining Stars program, is part of the 32-member Concordia Chicago Kapelle Choir that will be making a fall tour stop at Trinity Lutheran on Saturday, Oct. 27 at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary. The event is free, and everyone is welcome.

“I’m super excited to come home for tour,” said Maggie Warner, who is the daughter of Terry and Michelle Warner, who is Trinity Lutheran’s Director of Ministry Support. “Whenever we have a tour stop at someone’s hometown, it makes the concert that much more special.”

For Maggie, who is in her second year with the Kapelle Choir and a junior at Concordia Chicago, music always has been a part of her life, and she can’t wait to share her passion with many of her hometown family and friends.

“I don’t think there will be any nervous moments, but there are some beautiful ones throughout the concert,” Maggie said. “Listening to choral music is a great opportunity for spiritual rejuvenation! There are all types of music on our set, so there’s something that everyone will enjoy.”

On Saturday, the Kapelle Choir – led by Dr. Charles P. Brown - will perform its program "Songs and Praises."

Some of the pieces that will be performed include: “O Gracious Light” by Howard Helvey, “With a Voice of Singing” by Martin Shaw and “Day of Arising” by Carl Schalk.

“Music is one of the oldest forms of worship, and singing sacred and liturgical music in Kapelle drives home the gift of the Gospel,” said Maggie, who is working toward her DCE certification and is interested in working in children’s ministry after graduation. “It also reminds me of the need for God’s forgiveness and constant prayers for patience.”

CONCORDIA CHICAGO ALUMNI GATHERING
Prior to the Kapelle Choir concert, there will be a gathering for all Concordia Chicago alumni in Trinity's Fellowship Hall, beginning at 5:30 p.m.
