October 2018 Enews:
Orphan Train Immersion Experience this Saturday -- FREE!

Join us this Saturday, October 27 for a free, immersive event portraying the historic
Orphan Train experience as described in the bestselling book of the same name by Christina Baker KlineWe are thrilled to have 13 WHAM-TV's anchor Ginny Ryan as the event's emcee.

At 11 am, come to the  New York Museum of Transportation (6393 E. River Road, W. Henrietta, NY), and you'll receive a card describing the circumstances of an actual child who rode the Orphan Train. Read more here on what to expect during the realistic 14-minute ride, and the disembarkation.

We recommend this for adults and children ages 12 and older. Reservations are suggested; call (585) 232-5110 or [email protected].

Our intention is to drive awareness of today's children living in foster care. Event participants will get a taste of the loneliness and uncertainty that foster youth currently experience waiting for their forever family.
CAP/Corbett's FREE  Heart Gallery Opening Reception & Teen Panel, Friday, November 2, 5:30 pm.

Open your heart. Open your home. That's the message CAP/Corbett seeks to impart at The Judge Wagner 2018 Heart Gallery, a display of nearly 20 photographs of children in need of adoptive families.

State-wide volunteer photographers captured each child's unique personality. The reception includes a panel of adoptive parents and youth participating in a question and answer discussion, sharing their experiences and thoughts about the adoption process.

The display will be on view at The Strong National Museum of Play from Thursday, Nov. 1 through Sunday, Dec. 2.

Reservations are appreciated. Email: [email protected] or call (585) 232-5110.
