Lectures in History ® : Ronald Walters' Civil Rights Career
8 pm and midnight ET Saturday
We visit the classroom of University of Texas at Austin professor Peniel Joseph, who teaches about the life and career of civil rights pioneer Ronald Walters. In 1958, Mr. Walters organized a desegregation sit-in and was later influential in the promotion of African American Studies as a scholarly field. He also served as an adviser to the founding members of the Congressional Black Caucus, and was a campaign manager and consultant for Jesse Jackson's 1984 and 1988 presidential campaigns.

Ahead of the moon landing anniversary, C-SPAN partnered with polling firm Ipsos to survey Americans on their familiarity with and attitudes toward space exploration.
