Hoot 'n Howl is this Saturday

Join us for Hoot n' Howl this Saturday, October 27 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Green Valley Park, 7701 Smithfield Road. Children's activities will include a costume parade, haunted hayride, midway games, arts and crafts, storytelling, puppet show, selfie scenes, bounce houses and candy for all. Also, b ack again this year will be the  Blackland Prairie Raptor Center with live owls and hawks. 
 
Admission, parking and activities are free. Concessions will be available for purchase. Please contact the Parks Department at 817-427-6620 with any questions.  

Early Voting Underway 

Early voting for the November 6 general election continues through November 2. The ballot includes county, state and federal offices and bond propositions for  Birdville ISD and  Tarrant County Hospital District.  

North Richland Hills registered voters may vote early at the Dan Echols Center,  6801 Glenview Drive,  or at any other early voting location in Tarrant County. A list of all polling locations and a sample ballot can be found on the Tarrant County Elections website . If you have questions, please contact the Tarrant County Elections Office at 817-831-8683.

TxDOT Public Hearing to Focus on Cycling

The Texas Department of Transportation Fort Worth District Office and NCTCOG Transportation Department will hold public hearing in North Richland Hills on Monday, Oct. 29, on district transportation projects and programs that might affect bicycle use. The meeting will be held in the Grand Hall at the NRH Centre, 6000 Hawk Ave. 

Displays illustrating existing bike facilities and upcoming projects on the state system within the Fort Worth District will be available for viewing during an open house starting at 6 p.m., with the formal presentation beginning at 7 p.m. Citizens can also complete an online survey on this topic.  Comments must be received on or before Thursday, Nov. 14, 2018, to be a part of the official public hearing record. 

Input Sought on NRH Strategic Plan

The City of North Richland Hills and the Strategic Plan Committee are seeking input on Vision 2030, the community's strategy for moving North Richland Hills forward through the next decade of growth and success. 

The public may review components of the plan and provide input on Thursday, November 8, 2018 between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. in the Community Room at City Hall. You can learn more about the Vision 2030 strategic plan on our website at www.nrhtx.com/strategicplan.

New Location for Veterans Day Event

The City of North Richland Hills will host the 12th Annual Veterans Day Celebration to honor those that have served in the armed forces on Friday, November 9, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. This year, the celebration will move to NRH City Hall Events Plaza, 4301 City Point Drive. With the Veterans Day Event continuing to grow, the move to City Hall will accommodate more people and allow for ease of parking and seating for citizens. 

The celebration will include: musical entertainment, NRH Police and NRH Fire Honor Guard presenting the colors and special guest Staff Sargent Johnnie Yellock II, U.S. Air Force, Retired. For more information, please call the Parks & Recreation Department at 817-427-6620. In case of inclement weather on November 9, the Veterans Day Celebration would move indoors at NRH City Hall.
