World Compass Academy engages and inspires learners in a safe, challenging, and individualized learning environment, which cultivates and fosters character, a lifelong love of learning, and the skills to engage in the global community.

2019-20 Enrollment @ WCA

For the 2019-20 school year, the World Compass Academy enrollment process for NEW students and SIBLINGS of current students has changed. WCA will no longer hold a lottery in December to enroll students, but will use Douglas County School District's (DCSD) Open Enrollment process. The first round of Open Enrollment begins Thursday, November 1. Please visit DCSD's Open Enrollment Page for step-by-step instructions, important dates and deadlines, as well as answers to frequently asked questions. More information will be available soon on the school website.

Please note that this does not apply to currently enrolled Preschool, Pre-K, and K-8th Grade students,  but does apply to siblings of current WCA students.

WCA 5th Grade Goes to AmeriTowne!
by Rylee D.

The Fifth Dimension all loved going to AmeriTowne. They got to be grownups for the day and had so much fun doing it. They got to use their own money on whatever they wanted, but only had $12.50. They had learned how to write checks and how to use a debit card. They of course had to have something to buy, so there were shops to buy many things at. There was the Snack shop that, of course, sold snacks. The Sign and Print shop printed all of the store's signs. The newspaper store sold newspapers, and the container store made briefcases and things for other stores. The radio station played songs and had song requests, and last but not least, the bank was always busy. The Mayor and Judge did a great job running the town for a day. 5th graders have to admit they would go back in a heartbeat. Thank you to all the parent volunteers who made this awesome trip possible!

7th & 8th Graders Experience International Towne

This past Tuesday, the 7th and 8th graders went to International Towne. They were each a part of a country and had to work to earn a salary to help their economy thrive. Each student also had a chance to be a citizen, shop and experience other countries and cultures. They had to exchange currency at the international bank in Singapore and solve an economic problem that shut one region down. They had a fun time and did a great job!

PTO Updates

Ready, Set, GIVE! Here we are in the final hours of our fundraising campaign to support our wonderful teachers. Tomorrow,  October 26, we bring things to a close and begin the joyful task of allocating your donations to all of the sincere teacher requests. You would be so proud and maybe even a little surprised by the list of things for which our teachers are submitting. They are asking for resources that bring life, excitement, peace and organization to our classrooms. They have the best interest of the kids at heart, and these new items will certainly ensure a quality learning environment. You have all been so supportive up to this point, and we can't thank you enough for your generosity and willingness to show the staff how much we need them, appreciate them, and want them to succeed. If you have waited until the last minute to give, no worries! Send in cash or check tomorrow or head to our website:  www.coloradogives.org/WCARSG2018. There is still time! Each contribution makes our reach across classrooms a little bigger and expands the options of what we can fulfill. We can't wait to show you a picture of everything coming our teachers' ways. It's going to be impressive - all because of YOU!
