COMMUNITY SERVE DAY
SUNDAY, AUGUST 26
9AM-1PM  

Community Serve Day is on Sunday!  Please join us in helping teachers and staff at Rockwell prepare for the new school year.  We could really use your help!  Our volunteer numbers are down considerably compared to last year, and we have a larger number of teachers and staff to support, as well as many other projects.  

If you have time to spare (even if it is only for a couple of hours), please join us.  Please note that if we have inclement weather, there are numerous indoor projects that need to be done, so don't let that keep you away! 
 
Registration for the event is now closed, but you may join without registering.  If you are interested in joining and would like to receive the email update that will be sent later this week, please email Elaine Bentzinger.

Food is also needed for Community Serve Day volunteers! 

Please help feed our wonderful volunteers either by signing up to bring a tray of sandwiches, cookies or fruit/veggies or by setting up, maintaining the table, cleaning up... any help is appreciated.

Can't make it at 12:30pm to show your appreciation to these hard workers? No problem! Bring your food to the Rockwell gym any time after 9am on Sunday and we will store it until lunchtime.

"DOG DAY"/ROCKWELL'S BUSINESS DAY IS COMING!

Get Ready for
Dog Day!
(Rockwell's Back to School Business Day)
Thursday, August 30st  8:30am-2:00pm

Come to the Rockwell gym anytime during your assigned time frame:
8:30 am - 11:00 am: Last Names beginning A - L 
11:30 am - 2:00 pm: Last Names beginning M - Z
 
Please note that we will close between 11:00 am and 11:30 am for lunch.

Teacher Meet & Greet  in the classroom 2pm -3pm

Teacher assignments will be given out after required paperwork is completed! The school will NOT post class lists and you will not meet your teacher until Meet and Greet. 

Evening: Curriculum Night (for parents only), s ee times below in the important dates section

  • To make Dog Day run smoothly, we ask you to arrive on time and prepared. 
  • Bring a checkbook!  Get your PTA packet done online now!
  • Teacher assignments will be distributed at Dog Day after required paperwork is complete. The school will NOT post class lists and families may meet teachers in the classroom beginning at 2:00pm. 
  • If you are out of town for Dog Day, please email Rockwell secretary, Inez Mobley at mmobley@lwsd.org for instructions.

Bugle Article Submissions Welcome
  
The Beagle Bugle welcomes article submissions from students and parents .  Student journalists may submit articles about current events, students opinion-editorials and poems or short stories.  Parents may submit articles about PTA events and school related topics. 

Any article that is unrelated to PTA or Rockwell must be approved by the Lake Washington School District, and may be submitted to the Peach Jar E-flyer system.  The Lake Washington School District website has more information on the submission and approval process.

Short pieces will be edited for inclusion in the Bugle, longer pieces will be posted on the website with a link in the Bugle.  The Deadline for submissions for the next weekly Bugle is the preceding Thursday.  The Bugle Staff reserves the right to be selective regarding the materials that are publicized.
