SciTech appointed distributor for Tomocube, Inc - pioneers in Holographic Microscopy

Tomocube Inc. are pioneers of Holographic Microscopy and their 'HT' microscopes allow users to quantitatively and non-invasively investigate live biological cells and thin tissues in 3D. Their latest development, the HT-2, combines both holotomography and 3D fluorescence imaging into one instrument, and has the ability to deliver correlative analysis in 2D, 3D and 4D. This technology opens the door to a variety of previously unexplored applications in the fields of bioscience and life science.

Applied Scientific Instrumentation ct-dSPIM
- Dual Selective Plane Illumination Microscopy for Cleared Tissue

ASI's ct-dSPIM is a flexible and easy-to-use implementation of Selective Plane Illumination Microscopy (SPIM) that allows for dual views of large samples, such as cleared tissue. Unlike other light sheet techniques, this SPIM concept uses two objectives, oriented 45° from vertical, at right angles to one another above a horizontally mounted sample in an open dish. The ct-dSPIM has successfully imaged various cleared tissue samples from microtome-cut slices to whole mouse brains.

Key Features:

  • Image acquisition >10^8 voxels/sec
  • Sub-micron resolution in XYZ (sample-permitting)
  • Sample mounting in open dish
  • Image >5 mm deep into flat samples or up to 12 mm radius sphere
  • Modular and flexible setup

Luxendo QuVi-SPIM
- Multi-View Light Sheet Microscope

Combining dual views with dual detection channels, the QuVi SPIM enables large-scale imaging of living samples. It can achieve a resolution down to 340nm in 3D, enabling life imaging, free of phototoxic effects. Typical applications include living/ fixed/ cleared brain slices, long-term imaging of 3D cell culture models (spheroids, organoids, tumoroids), imaging of conventional cell culture in high throughput, and even functional (e.g. calcium) imaging.

Key Features:
  • Easy sample accessibility through quick load feature
  • Compact, vibration-free and robust design
  • Resolution down to 340nm in 3D
  • Browser-based user interface

Re-Scan Confocal Microscope
- Super-resolution and Confocal upgrade for new and existing microscope installations

Re-Scan Confocal Microscopy (RCM) is a new super-resolution technique from Confocal.nl based on standard confocal microscopy extended with an optical (re-scanning) unit that projects the image directly onto a CCD camera. This technology is useful for biological applications, where the combination of high-resolution and high-sensitivity is required.
  • Cheaper alternative to a confocal microscope
  • Allows upgrade of existing microscopes
  • Improved lateral resolution (170nm at 488nm light)
  • Strongly improved sensitivity
