PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Wednesday, we heard from Chris Hand, former Jacksonville Mayoral Chief of Staff and former press secretary for and co-author with former Senator Bob Graham.  Chris talked about the 50th anniversary of Jacksonville's consolidation, some of the issues being debated in the once-a-decade charter revision commission, and the importance of civic education.  Chris authored the 50th anniversary update of the Robert Martin Book, A Quiet Revolution, about consolidation.  It is a must-read for anyone interested in Jacksonville politics and how we got to where we are today.

NOVEMBER GOLF OUTING
Join us for our October golf outing at Hyde Park Golf Club!

They're not making them like Hyde Park Golf Club anymore. Located in Jacksonville, Florida visitors can play virtually the same course that was designed by the legendary Scottish architect Donald Ross in 1925.
The gorgeous Southern pines and Spanish oaks that line the course are even more mature and majestic than they were 80 years ago that lend's a special aura to the playing experience. Since the layout has not changed, you can play the same course and face the same shot-making decisions as the legends of the game.
