Spring Climate Collaborative Network Meeting
SDRCC continues to support energy efficiency programming through its participation in the San Diego Regional Energy Partnership with support from SDG&E. SDRCC hosted a network meeting focused on energy, climate resiliency and wildfires on May 22nd, 2019 at the Gillespie Air Hanger. This meeting included presentations on: partnerships for preparedness, interconnectedness of mitigation and resilience, and emergency management and resilience. Climate Collaborative Highlighted in 2019 San Diego Quality of Life Dashboard
The Equinox Project, now at The Nonprofit Institute at the University of San Diego, released the 2019 Quality of Life Dashboard, which measures and benchmarks several environmental and economic trends throughout the region to ensure San Diego is on a path to greater health, wealth, comfort and sustainability for current and future generations. Several SDRCC member projects were highlighted under the new Regional Leadership and Planning page .
Climate & Energy News
SDGBC held their Zero Net Energy and Carbon Planning Workshop and explored the role energy efficiency has to play in decarbonization. A copy of the presentation is available here.

Report from the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) looking at the cost-effectiveness of renewable energy and energy efficiency in complying with international building energy codes.

Funding & Resources
The 2019 Buildings Energy Efficiency Frontiers and Innovation Technologies Funding Opportunity Announcement will invest up to 47 million dollars, to allow all interested parties (universities, corporations, non-profits, national labs) to research and develop innovative technologies that will improve energy productivity, improve flexibility, security and resiliency, as well as lower energy costs. Applications due July 15th.

The Coalition for Clean Air is offering a microgrant program for assistance with throwing an event in your community for Clean Air Day on October 2nd. Applications are due by July 19th. 

Serves the goal of supporting community-based organizations (CBOs) to lead climate resilience-building initiatives that elevate the voices, priorities, and assets of the communities they represent. Applications are due July 19th.

USDA's Sustainable Agricultural Systems Request for Applications focuses on approaches that promote transformational changes in the U.S. food and agricultural system in the next 25 years. Applications due September 26.
