From the Associate Rector
Dear Ones,
This coming Sunday, the Church recognizes the feast day of St. Mary Magdalene -- a woman who has suffered some grave mislabeling throughout history. The Church honors Mary Magdalene because she was a devoted follower of Christ and was the first person to witness resurrection through an empty tomb. The life of Mary Magdalene speaks to the honor and wisdom of every woman.
As many of you know, St. Augustine's is a Magdalene Congregation, which means we support the work of Magdalene House Chicago, a 501c3 working towards providing a free, two-year residential recovery home for women who are leaving behind lives of incarceration, addiction, prostitution, trafficking, and more. It takes so much for this work to happen, and as a member of the Board of Directors, I thank you for your continued prayers and support.
This Sunday, and in the weeks to come, please remember Mary Magdalene. Pray that we can all bear witness to stories of resurrection all around us; pray for the women who are waiting for someone to offer them a chance at new life; and pray for this world and a culture that has too-often marginalized women.
What a day to celebrate and be together. I am looking forward to seeing you Sunday.

Ride To Church Needed
For the past four months a small team from church has provided rides to and from church for a parishioner who lives at the Presbyterian Homes in Evanston. It's time to make a new rota and, hopefully, add a few additional drivers. If you are able to take a turn to bring a neighbor to church about once a month, please contact
Julia Joehl. Thanks to those on the team who have faithfully provided rides and fellowship to a lady who loves to be at St. Augustine's on Sunday mornings.
