This week’s eNewsletter feature story
is written by Julie Ruchniewicz,
FPCE Parish Nurse.

Greetings!

This time of year, I always feel conflicted. The holidays and the previous year are over, the new year is well underway. There always seems to be pressure to commit to some resolutions (though I strongly dislike that word) that you may or may not keep. Just as we’ve passed a new beginning, I am acutely aware that this year, too, will end. How will I fill the days in between?

It makes me think of a poem that I love.
Interfaith Action of Evanston hosts Walk for Warmth

Evanston Mayor Steve Haggerty, NAACP President Rev. Dr. Michael Nabors, our own Rev. Raymond Hylton, seven aldermen and numerous city officials have signed on as walkers or supporters of Interfaith Action of Evanston’s Walk for Warmth , to be held this Monday, January 20. The event, which kicks off at First United Methodist Church at 11 am on MLK Day of Service, will be raising money through donations and sponsorships to support IAE’s Emergency Overnight Shelter. Walkers will travel a roughly two-mile circuit of churches in downtown Evanston, each of which serves as a host to the shelter in a three-week rotation. FPCE is one of these churches. Learn more at the Interfaith Action for Evanston website.
All of the above information (and more) can be found
on our CONNECT page on the FPCE website.
