PATH Intl. Registered Therapeutic Riding Instructor  Certification
Nominations Open for 3rd Annual PATH Intl. Credentialing Council Election 
July 5, 2019
 PATH Intl. is accepting nominations for the following voting representative positions on the PATH Intl. Credentialing Council.

* PATH Intl. Therapeutic Riding Instructor - Registered level
* PATH Intl. Interactive Vaulting Instructor
* PATH Intl. Lead Site Visitor Representative
* Premier Accredited Center - Smaller Center (under $300,000 in EAAT revenue)
* Premier Accredited Center - Larger Center (over $300,000 in EAAT revenue)

The procedures and timeline this year will be as follows:

* Nominations open July 5, 2019, for vacant council positions and positions currently held with terms expiring December 31, 2019.
* References are gathered for each candidate nominated. (All references must be received no later than August 16, 2019.)
* Candidates interested in serving submit a consent to serve form. (All consent to serve forms must be received no later than August 9, 2019.)
* Nominations close August 9, 2019.
* Nomination review task force reviews nomination forms and references to identify the candidates qualified to be included on the election ballot by August 31, 2019.
* Election opens September 2, 2019 and PATH Intl. members vote.
* Election closes October 11, 2019, and elected members are announced shortly thereafter.
* Elected members begin their terms January 1, 2019.

Candidates will receive confirmation of their eligibility for the ballot following the nomination review task force's review of the nominations. We encourage nominations to be submitted early to allow the nomination review task force sufficient time to verify the eligibility of all candidates.

You are invited to review the nomination forms and recommend a qualified candidate for the credentialing council. Self-nominations will be accepted. Individuals may also proactively submit a consent to serve form if they anticipate being nominated. As a reminder about the form and function of this council:
The PATH Intl. Credentialing Council (PICC) is an autonomous body of the association responsible for the development, maintenance and administration of the professional certification and center accreditation programs of PATH Intl. Beginning with the registered therapeutic riding instructor certification, the PICC has sole decision-making authority for all certification program policies regarding certification eligibility requirements; recertification requirements; examination development, administration and scoring; grievance and disciplinary policies for certificants; and the appointment and oversight of subject matter expert committees.

PICC members will be given essential tasks to support the development and maintenance of PATH Intl. certification programs and eventually the center accreditation program. Expectations for each committee member include that they:

* Shall actively participate in essential tasks related to PATH Intl. certification programs and center accreditation programs
* Shall hold only one PICC representative position at any time
* Shall not during their term(s) of service and for two years afterward develop, deliver, approve, endorse or recommend any education or training programs and products designed or intended to prepare candidates for certification examinations
* May not mentor PATH Intl. certification candidates during their term(s) of service and for two years afterward
* Shall not take any PATH Intl. certification exam during their term(s) of service and for two years afterward

The ideal candidate(s) will possess:
1) Experience with at least two of the following:
* Accreditation of a certification program
* Assessment design
* Job task analyses (i.e., identifying candidate knowledge, skills and abilities)
* Item writing for examinations
* Analysis of test question performance
* Analysis of test procedure performance
* Quality assurance compliance
2) Proven experience as an active member of a committee as evidenced by references
3) Experience representing professional peers in a leadership role for a professional organization
4) Dedication to the PATH Intl. mission, pursuit of National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) accreditation and the credentialing council purpose as stated in the charter
5) Qualifications for the credentialing council representative position being considered as defined by the charter
6) Current certification for the credentialing council representative position being considered as defined by the charter
7) Current PATH Intl. membership as required by the credentialing council representative position being considered as defined by the charter
